Time to sit back and get ready for a little more of that great country music. You know the kind I’m talking about. Someone seems to be keeping it hidden from the rest of the world – hidden in Texas! The only thing wrong with the headline on today’s post is that I don’t know James Lann, so I’m going to have trouble telling you about him. But, I have heard his music, and that is a great place to start.
Click on his name up there to get to his web site, then settle back and listen to the music he has there! Visit his Facebook page, and be sure to “Like” it while you are there. You can follow him on Twitter @jameslannmusic. And head over to Instagram to see some of his pictures. And, he didn’t leave out Reverbnation! You can head over there and listen, too, if that is your preference. I love social media! Gotta thank James for finding me on Twitter. It was his follow on this #Follow Friday, that led me to his music. And, I’ve been listening all day!
The songs you will hear on his web site are Let it Rain, Halfway to Houston, Every Kiss Goodnight, You’re From the Country, too, Honky Tonk Two Step Queen, The Talent Requires, Wildfire – Acoustic, Honky Tonk Kung Fu, Big Wheels in the Moonlight, Heaven Ain’t the Place to Be – Acoustic, Daddy’s Little Girl, Cowboy Killer… and, 25 more! Closing out this very impressive list of 39 songs with The Grinch. Yep, the one from the Dr. Seuss Christmas cartoon… you remember, “You’re a mean one, Mr. Grinch”. While that one came as a bit of a surprise, it made me smile.
I did find out a little about James. He grew up in Arizona and New Mexico, on cattle ranches. he was “born and raised cowpunching,” (those are his words. He said in an interview that he packed up and moved to Texas when he was 20, to pay his ‘dues in theHonky Tonk’s of Texas like George Strait and many others.’ [Source]
I love what his bio says – he is described as a ‘fifth generation cowboy, James Lann has traded in a rope and a saddle for a guitar and a song.’ His bio goes on to tell us that he likes to write “songs that can change your life, songs that can make you think.” One thing I know for sure, is that he is writing songs country music fans are going to want to listen to.
He sings, he writes, he has had four No. 1 songs and many Top 10 hits on the Texas Charts. I listened, I liked it, and I think he needs to be on every country radio station out there. I’m glad Texas is into his sound – now I’m waiting for the rest of the world to catch on. This is some great music and I really hope all of our readers will head on over to his web site and listen to some of these songs.
While I don’t know enough about James to give you a really good introduction, I hope I have convinced you to visit his social media pages and listen to his music. Then come on back, and let us know what you think. I’m sure there will be a lot of James Lann music coming out of the speakers here in the office at Country’s Chatter! As much as I’ve listened, I was hoping by now I would be able to tell you which James Lann song is my favorite. But, I don’t have a favorite. I like every one of them.
I will be back with more soon! Going to spend the rest of this rainy Friday listing to some great country music.
