We’ve been following the journey of Daisi Rain for a number of years. The group is an American country-pop music group founded in 2004. We have seen them perform at local festivals and fairs, from larger cities like Bristol, Knoxville or Greeneville, Tenn., to the smaller communities like Johnson City and Unicoi. But, whenever they take the stage, one thing the audience can depend on is at least 90-minutes of non-stop entertainment.
It isn’t just local audiences that have grown to appreciate what Daisi Rain does. They have opened for Easton Corbin, Ashton Shepherd, Jerrod Neimann, Craig Campbell, and have warmed the stage for John Anderson, Jana Kramer, The Newsboys and even The Lovin’ Spoonful.
On Saturday (May 16), the band performed at our local Strawberry Festival. The sun was shining, the weather was perfect, and the kids were doing what they do best – making music! The band is made up of siblings Cameron Brown (banjo and lead guitar), Donovan Brown (drums), Amelia Brown (vocals and fiddle), Neal Brantner (bass guitar), and Whitney White (vocals).
You can’t help but smile when these kids are on stage. This is a high-energy, fun-filled performance. They are very talented and hard-working musicians and vocalists. You might want to get up and dance when they play – people were doing that at our festival on Saturday! And, you will probably want to sing along to some of the music they share. And, if you are the kind of audience member who just wants to sit back and enjoy the show – this band is going to give you a show to enjoy!
It doesn’t matter what your favorite genre’ is – when you go to a Daisi Rain Show, you are probably going to hear it. And, you are going to hear it done well. I spoke briefly to the band after the show. Band members and their management don’t mind sharing information about their long, daily practice sessions. That is just more proof that ‘practice really does make perfect’.
We heard songs made famous by Miranda Lambert, Nancy Sinatra, Johnny Cash, and The Band Perry. And, we heard original music written by Cameron, Donovan and Amelia Brown. All of the music was well-performed, and every time we see this group on stage, it becomes more and more obvious that they love what they are doing.
I’ll be back with more soon!
