You can’t say this isn’t the right season for this song! The singer is Amy Wilcox. The song is titled “Summer in Slow Motion”. It definitely doesn’t sound like a ‘slow-motion’ anything to me. But, I get where the lyrics are going. As for the song – it is upbeat, filled with fun, well-written, and has very memorable summer lyrics – the song just sounds like fun! It will make you want to grab a boat, a bunch of friends, find out way out to the lake and have a great day! For sure it is a song that you will be singing along with before you even realize you are doing that.
I didn’t know anything about Amy Wilcox, until I received an e-mail about her new video. She is from Arlington, Va., and had originally moved to Nashville to pay soccer for Vanderbilt University. As she worked her way through college, Amy decided to pursue music as her career and has been growing as a songwriter ever since. She co-wrote this latest single, along with Lisa Goe and Jordan Schmidt. The video for “Summer in Slow Motion” is a fun, party themed piece about kicking back with friends.
I don’t know what Amy was studying at Vanderbilt, but if it wasn’t music or performance, or songwriting – I think she made the right move to head that direction. When you have this kind of vocal talent, and can write, too, I say go for it! Hope you will all watch the video, listen to the song, and let me know what you think. More important, let Amy know what you think, too! I believe you are all going to like this. Now let’s get on a boat and go party!
