I listened to April Kry’s new single a few days ago. And, then I listened to it again. Shortly after that, I went back to YouTube and listened to it again, as I watched the lyric video. By now you probably figured out that I like the song, a lot. And, I don’t mind telling you I like April Kry, also a lot. There are a lot of pretty, young blonds with guitars running around the country. But, there is a huge difference between April and some of the others. April can really sing.
Her voice is celestial, heavenly, really angelic. If you’ve ever heard someone refer to a singer as having a voice as ‘clear as a bell’, they were probably talking about April. Add that voice to a very emotional story (set to music), and you’re got something. In fact, what you have is a song called “Daddy’s Little Girl”. While the song could easily draw a tear from the eyes of the most hard-hearted person, it is as inspirational as it is emotional.
I lost my Mom. I know I’m not the only one. But, I have a feeling that even those who still have their Mom with them are going to be touched by this song. Beautifully written and flawlessly performed, this is definitely a song that will touch your heart, and lift you up – all at the same time.
A press release tells us that this song was written by Nick Jonas and his father. Nick was only 11 years old when they wrote the song. After hearing April sing a cover of Martina McBride’s “A Broken Wing,” Kevin Jonas Sr. knew he found the perfect voice for the song. The good news for all of us is that the song is available on iTunes.
