A concert with Lady Antebellum and Hunter Hayes is exciting. It is always special. I’ve seen Lady A on stage a few times. And, I’ve seen Hunter on stage. But what a treat it must have been for the folks at an Atlanta concert to see these awesome country artists joined on stage by 3-year-old Mallory Kate Hall, and her little sister Madison.
There is a story here. More than just the story of an artist bring a child or two on stage to sing with them. That seems to be a growing trend these days. But what made this so very special was that Mallory is a heart transplant recipient. Atlanta’s WSB TV news said that after living for two years with dilated cardiomyopathy as a result of a virus. She was placed on a heart transplant list in September, 2014. She stayed at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta until December, when she received her new heart.
The news report tells us that through her good times, and the bad, Lady A’s “Compass” always made her smile, and brought comfort to her entire family when the days got tough. After a video of the little girls singing on their facebook page was posted, Lady A got the message and the girls were invited to join the trio on stage for a performance of the song. Lady A invited Hunter Hayes to come out and sing with them.
Have a look at this great video from the fine folks at WSB TV in Atlanta. It doesn’t get much sweeter than this.
