Hard to believe Fun Fest is over and done for another year.  It was nine days of incredible entertainment. Starting with the kick-off parade, and going through the activities, events and concerts – it was a week no one is going to forget any time soon. The final concert gave us The Band Perry on stage.  Micah Smith, one of our local WJHL TV news reporters interviewed the kids before the show, and did a great story for the 11 p.m. news that night. The segment included a number of clips of the concert, which allowed those of us who could not be in the audience that night to have a look at what we missed.

Bnad Perry and Zombie Walk 114If you’re been a reader for the past eight year, you that Country’s Chatter has been following The Band Perry since “Hip to My Heart” hit the radio back in 2009. We watched “If I Die Young” race to the top of the country charts in 2010; and “You Lie” and “All Your Life” were also chart toppers in 2011.  “Postcard from Parks”, “Better Dig Two” and “Done” kept the trip high on the charts in 2013, and we heard “Chainsaw” and “Gentle on My Mind” in 2014.  And remember, they have a new single coming out on Aug. 14! The awards and award nominations also started adding up, with Country Music Association awards, American Country Awards, Grammy and Billboard Music Awards, CMT Music Awards, and Teen Choice Awards proving to the world what fans already knew – this group will be around for a long time. Band Perry 6I have been to several Band Perry shows in the past, so I was really disappointed that I had to be somewhere other than the concert last night.  However, I am happy to tell you that we did have some friends there with cameras – who not only enjoyed the show, but took some great pictures that we are going to share with you all here.  A huge thank you going out today to Brittany Johnson, Stephanie Hoilman and Kimberly Brown for the photos from the show last night.  And, we can’t say enough great things about the folks in Kingsport who organize the Fun Fest event every year.  It takes a lot of planning, a lot of hours, and a lot of work to put something like this together. The folks in Kingsport have certainly figured out how to do it right!

Now, we’re going to pass on the photos from the show – Enjoy!

In addition to their web site, visit their Facebook page, and remember to “Like” it while you are there! If you feel like watching some videos, you just have to head over to their YouTube channel. While you can keep up with news and tour schedules on the web site, you will want to follow them on Twitter, too. You never know what these kids will be ‘Tweeting’, and it’s fun to be on the reading end of those Tweets.  Follow them there @thebandperry. If you aren’t already following Country’s Chatter on Twitter, we’d love to have you! You will find us @countryschatter.

Again, we need to send a huge THANK YOU out to Brittany Johnson, Stephanie Hoilman and Kimberly Brown for these great pictures from last night’s show!  Back with more soon!
