Back on Aug. 6, 2015, a few of us from Country’s Chatter were fortunate to be among fans who gathered at Ole Smoky Moonshine at The Island in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., to see Daryle Singletary. Most of our regular readers know that since then, we have experienced some serious technical problems with the web site. For nearly two weeks we were unable to post anything. Then, we had a problem downloading any photos from our camera cards. Right now, we are back to normal. And, we are excited to tell you about this show from almost two weeks ago.
On July 27, we told you all about Daryle’s new album. The title pretty much says it all. When an artist names his CD “There’s Still A Little Country Left,” we are definitely interested. When we listened, we knew all of you would be interested, too. If you missed that CD Review, you can check it out by clicking here. The album is awesome, and what a pleasure hearing Daryle sing some of the new songs from that CD. We got to hear “Get Out of My Country”, “There’s Still a Little Country Left,” and several other songs from the new album. He missed a few of my favorites though, particularly “Enough to Lie to Me” and “Say Hello to Heaven”. But, no matter how long an artist is on stage, when they have as many great songs as Daryle does, there just isn’t time to do them all.
He also sang some of the old ones that we all remember him for. Naturally, “I Let Her Lie” and “Too Much Fun” were among those hits. In addition to his own music – Daryle even gave us some of the music that made other country artists famous. It wasn’t really a surprise to anyone that he did a great job covering their music. I know a lot of fans will be wanting to know where they can get the new album. Check out his web site, or head over to iTunes where you will find it.
Everyone who attended knows that Daryle Singletary is still what country music is all about. He puts on a really entertaining show, he has a super band, and his music is unquestionably country! That pretty much covers it. One more thing we do have to mention is how very nice this man is to his fans. He took time to talk to them, both in the meet and greet line before the show, and after the show when fans again lined up for photos, autographs and a little chat with this great artist. Daryle leaves you with the feeling that he would make as good a neighbor as he is an entertainer.
We are going to close this with more photos from the Aug. 6 show. And, we’ll include a few of Daryle with fans, and this great area in Pigeon Forge where the event was held. For those of you who don’t know, Pigeon Forge is also the home of Dollywood. It’s a super place to take a vacation, with things going on all year long! The Ferris Wheel below is on The Island, and just behind Ole Smoky Mountain Moonshine. The lighted fountains are really pretty, and there are chairs all around for tired tourists to sit and rest while they watch the the colored waters.
In addition to Daryle’s web site, be sure to visit his Facebook page. And, remember to “Like” it while you are there! If you have a Twitter account, you can follow him @DaryleSing. If you aren’t already following Country’s Chatter on Twitter, we’d love to have you! You will find us @countryschatter.
So glad we were finally able to get this posted for all of you. I can’t leave without saying that if any of you have never seen Daryle Singletary on stage, don’t wait. Keep an eye on his show schedule, and go see him when the opportunity presents himself. He is a great entertainer, and he really does know there’s a little country left!
More for you al soon!
