In just four days, we will be seeing Scotty McCreery at the Appalachian Fair in Gray, Tenn. When I last checked, there were a limited number of seats still available in the reserved section. If that reserved section sells out, you can still see Scotty’s show. Remember, your fair gate admission will get you into the general seating area! We will be talking to Scotty before his show on Monday, and will get that article/interview posted as soon as possible. Right now, though, we did want to share this press release with all of you today. This had to be a very special experience for Scotty. .
[Press Release] Multi-Platinum-selling country music artist Scotty McCreery met Baseball Hall of Fame legend Johnny Bench at The Sixth Annual Scarlet and Gold Invitational, held at the River Landing Country Club in Wallace, North Carolina on Monday, Aug.17. All proceeds from the golf tournament benefited Hope For The Warriors®, a national nonprofit dedicated to restoring a sense of self, restoring the family unit, and restoring hope for our service members and our military families.
Bench, who notably played for the Cincinnati Reds from 1967 to 1983 and is considered “Baseball’s Greatest Catcher,” was the celebrity host for the event along with former MLB infielder Doug Flynn. North Carolina-native McCreery performed a private concert for the tournament participants that evening.
The mission of Hope For The Warriors® is to enhance the quality of life for post-9/11 service members, their families, and families of the fallen who have sustained physical and psychological wounds in the line of duty. Hope For The Warriors® is dedicated to restoring a sense of self, restoring the family unit, and restoring hope for our service members and our military families.
Also on Aug.17, McCreery released his new single “Southern Belle,” which is available for purchase now and will impact country radio on Aug. 31. It is the first single from the Platinum-selling artist’s upcoming new album due out in early 2016. The up-tempo tune was written by Sean McConnell and Jason Saenz and produced by Frank Rogers.
The Mercury Nashville / 19 / Interscope recording artist scored two consecutive Top 10 hits (the Platinum-certified “See You Tonight” and the Gold-certified “Feelin’ It”) from his last album, See You Tonight, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart. It was the ACM and CMT Award winner’s third album to debut at No. 1 on a Billboard chart following his Platinum-certified first album Clear As Day, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart and featured two Platinum-certified singles (“I Love You This Big” and “The Trouble with Girls”) and his Gold-certified album Christmas with Scotty McCreery, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Holiday Albums Chart.
