We have so many extremely talented artists we need to tell you about. The list keeps growing and there just never seems to be time. We’ll get to you all eventually. I have no idea how we find them all, or maybe they find us. But today, we really want to tell you about Kurt Stevens. He just kind of dropped into our lap, figuratively speaking. It was a Twitter introduction from one of his fans. We like him a lot, and we are pretty sure all of our readers will, too.
Here is what we learned from his bio on his web site. He began his career when he was four years old – that was when he started taking piano lessons. He continued studying piano and music theory as a classical pianist. Throughout his formative years, he spent time listening to Elton John, Elvis, ACDC and The Allman Brothers – but he also listened to the Eagles, Motown, classic rock, Ray Charles and Frank Sinatra. Pretty diverse group of entertainers there.
We don’t know exactly when, but Kurt’s bio goes on to tell us that he eventually ended up with songs by Jake Owen, Jason Aldean, Chris Young and Kenny Chesney on his playlist. His music was influenced by Johnny Cash and many other influential artists. As a Florida State University student, he was voted favorite country artist and country band in 2013 and 2014. Besides being named FSU’s country artist of the year, Kurt also won the Country showdown competition for Florida’s Treasure Coast in 2014. He has a strong following in Central and South Florida, and it seems a fast-growing fan base throughout the entire country.
