You don’t even have to be a country music fan to know that Mel Tillis recently had surgery in a Nashville hospital. Anyone with Twitter or Facebook has probably seen the messages from fellow musicians and fans alike, offering their support and letting Mel know they have been remembering him in prayer.
Nasvhille’s newspaper, The Tennessean, tells us in a recent article, that Mel is on the ‘road to recovery’. According to the article, Mel’s rep, Don Murry Grubbs, confirmed to the newspaper that Mel did have colon surgery, is doing fine and on the right track, and at the time of the interview, said Mel was “awake and watching television”.
Great news about the Country Music Hall of Famer, and one I’m sure all of is fans were anxious to hear. Below are a few of the Twitter postings we saw.
The Oak Ridge Boys posted on Twitter “Prayers for our brother Mel Tillis who is very ill at this time… Bobby Bare will fill in for Mel on the Country Music Cruise…”
Rhonda Vincent posted this photo on Twitter and Facebook, along with this message: “Sending our prayers 2one of our favorite entertainers
#MelTillis Wishing him restored health. Our thoughts r with u”
Ronnie McDowell posted a headline, with a link to an article: “Mr. Nashville: URGENT PRAYERS NEEDED FOR MEL TILLIS”
