DollyTex Ritter Award  was presented to the TV Movie
“Dolly Parton’s Coat of Many Colors”.

That really was a good show.  With all the lines written for the artists that were supposed to be funny – I think the prize for best line (not written for them) goes to Little Big town, who said when they accepted their award for Vocal Group of the Year – “thank you, Chris Stapleton, for not being a group.”

Given an opportunity to vote, would I have picked the same winners?  Probably not.  Some very deserving people weren’t nominated.  Some very deserving people who were nominated, didn’t win. I’m very glad to see Chris Stapleton getting the recognition he deserves … but, there are others who haven’t gotten the respect their music really proves they should have. It was a good show. Now we can all sit back and relax for a while, until the next awards show comes along.
