James

It’s been a little while since we heard some new music, from a new artist, that just kind of reached out and grabbed us. But, we heard some today.  James Dupre’ has a voice that you can’t help but want to listen to.  Every note, every tone, every sound is perfect.  And his song, “Stoned To Death” sounds like it was written just for him. This is not a song you will listen to and be saying to yourself, “Kenny Chesney, Luke Bryan, Cole Swindell or Jason Aldean (etc.) should be singing this”.  Because they shouldn’t.  James Dupre’ should be singing this … and he is! James is not only a singer, he is a songwriter, who wrote seven of the 10 songs on his new album, and co-wrote songs for many other artists.

The video for “Stoned To Death” premiered on CMT Music today, and the press release below includes the link where you can go to hear it.  There are also links below where you can head over to itunes and check out the album, and other singles available there. And, of course, we have links to his social media sites, too.  I have a feeling you are going to want to get to know more about James Dupre’.

[Press Release] The stars are aligning for James Dupré this summer as his new video for “Stoned to Death” is premiering exclusively today on CMT Music as well as having the honor of being included in their Artist Discovery Program. Each month, CMT selects a few emerging artists and brands them as Artist Discoveries featuring them on CMT Music, CMT.com, CMT mobile and socials. This recognition comes on the heels of a much anticipated album release last week, being played on Sirius XM’s The Highway and Spotify, being highlighted on Nash Country Daily’s “Who’s New” feature, featured as one of Rolling Stone Country’s “artists you need to know” and receiving many more rave reviews from critics and fans alike. Check out the album on iTunes HERE.

The chilling music video for “Stoned to Death,” directed by Andy Duensing, encapsulates the raw emotion of a lost love with the regret of having clear hindsight and wishing for another chance “watching the world from behind the bars and through the glass.” Fans can vote for “Stoned to Death” at JamesDupre.cmt.com to see him in the 12 Pack Countdown on CMT Music!

About James Dupré: As a notable member of team Adam Levine on NBC’s “The Voice”, James Dupré earned the respect of millions of viewers, but this was not his first taste of fame. The YouTube sensation (currently nearing 10 million views) had quite the following as early as 2007, and was invited to perform on “Ellen” in 2010 before landing a record deal in 2011. As a former EMT-Paramedic from Bayou Chicot, Louisiana, Dupré’s humility and charm are as memorable as his uniquely strong baritone vocals. As a writer on 7 of the 10 tracks on his new album, co-written with hit-makers Neal Coty, Jessi Alexander and more, James is proud to share Stoned To Death produced by Jordan Lehning (Kacey Musgraves, Kree Harrison) with his existing and new fans alike.

James dJames doesn’t have a lot of content up on his web site yet, but I’m sure that will happen soon.  He does have some show dates listed. and I think any of you who live anywhere near where he has a scheduled performance are going to want to check it out. He has a Facebook page, so be sure to visit there, and please remember to “Like” the page while you are there. He’s done some live broadcasts form his Facebook page, too. so, when you follow him you will get alerts for those as well.
