Whether you live in the Bristol, Tennessee/Virginia area or not; and whether you are a football fan or not; you have probably heard about the Battle At Bristol. Jennifer Nettles, solo artist and former lead singer for the duo, Sugarland, has been selected to sing the National Anthem at the game Saturday. this is already turning into a country music event, as well as a football game, with Kenny Chesney on stage tonight for the Tailgate party, along with The Band Perry, and Sam Hunt hitting the stage sometime tomorrow for a pregame show.
This football game has been in the planning stages for several years, and tomorrow, it will actually happen! A lot of hard work has turned Bristol Motor Speedway into a football stadium! The ‘Fastest Half Mile” in NASCAR is now a 160,000-seat stadium, which will be packed tomorrow for the main event. That main event, football game between the University of Tennessee Volunteers and the Virginia Tech Hokies.
The fans are here; the media is here; the weather forecast looks great; and we’ve even got the Good Year Blimp floating around the area. That’s something you don’t see in Northeast Tennessee very often! To those of you heading out to the Tailgate party tonight or the big game tomorrow, have fun!
