Pride Announced As a Performer During “The 50th Annual CMA Awards”

Country music icon Charley Pride opens up about his trailblazing career in the “Heart to Heart” section of Closer Weekly, on newsstands now. The three-page spread gives fans an unprecedented look at rarely seen photos of the multi-platinum selling superstar’s illustrious career. Pride also reflects on topics about his humble beginnings in rural Mississippi, being a father, and what inspired him to pursue music.
The three-time CMA winner has experienced a resurgence in 2016 on the anniversary of his 50th year as a country music recording artist, while just being announced as a performer at “The 50th Annual CMA Awards” airing Wednesday, Nov. 2 on ABC Television Network. Pride was featured in “Forever Country,” along with Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire, Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean and more, to celebrate the CMA Awards 50th anniversary. The song dominated the charts upon its release, hitting No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.
