Doug Lawler is ready to release a new album, which includes his new single, “Most of it Left”. His new album, ‘Uncompromised” is set to release on Oct. 15. The song is already being played on Heartland TV and Country Network, and comes to us with a really well-done and very entertaining, video. The video has great scenery, isn’t over-loaded with people not doing anything, has black and white scenes as well as bright colors, and great outside scenery and a few studio scenes as well. There really isn’t anything missing from this video. and to make it even better, he’s singing a really good song. You can watch the video on Doug’s website, or on YouTube, by clicking here.
“Most of It Left,” is Doug’s new single. The song is getting some air time in different parts of the country. But, I don’t think it is getting as much as it deserves. It might take you a minute to get past the energetic, effervescent, playful melody and into the lyrics, but when you do – listen carefully. Doug has found a great way of telling folks that how much you have isn’t really as important as how much you want what you have. It doesn’t matter how many miles are on your van, how much the paint has faded, how many years are on a relationship, or really how much or how little money you have … as long as after all those years, you still got most of it left. After you have watched the video a time or two, and listened to those lyrics, watch again. This time watch Doug. He has an infectious smile, an adorable grin, and a personality that even comes through on video.
If you like country music that fits with today’s country style, and still holds on to what made yesterday’s music real country music, then this is one for you. The song features production from Troy Luccketta, of the band Tesla. Troy produced and performed drums on the song “Most of it Left’. Buck Johnson, of Aerosmith, performed back-up vocals on that song as well. If that isn’t enough, they added Beau Maxwell, who worked with Jennifer nettles, Prince, Little Bit Town, Alan Parson, and many others, to do the engineering on the song.
Doug is a singer, songwriter, guitarist, rock veteran, and certainly no stranger to the ropes of the music industry. He moved to Nashville back in 1996, and recorded “Why Would I Do that,” his first single. That song charted on New Music Weekly in 2000. His second single, “she Hit the Road,” was recorded with Lyle Lovett’s Band, and that one also charted. So while Doug Lawler may be a new name to some country music fans, he is definitely not new to country music.
