I consider myself one of the lucky ones. Like all of Ty Herndon’s fans, I’ve been listening to his music for more than 20 years. And, I have been fortunate enough to see him in concert. So, like all of Ty’s fans, I was really looking forward to hearing his new album, “House on Fire”. I’m going to run the full press release below, which will tell you everything you need to know about this album, like what songs are on it and where you can get it, and even link you to other sites that have done reviews. But before I do that, I wanted to tell you just a little about what the folks here at Country’s Chatter think of this new music from Ty.
We listened to it last week, and we’ve had it on all day here at the office, and no one asked to turn it off, or play something else. I think every one of us has picked out the ones they consider to be favorite songs, and of course we all talked about which ones we would like to hear on the radio as singles from Ty. All of Ty’s fans know he has some powerful vocals, and we all remember that smooth side of his voice from songs like “What Mattered Most”. The new album, House on Fire, starts off with the song “That Kind of Night”. The song lets you know right away that Ty has moved with the industry. He is singing what most people refer to as “Today’s Country”, and he’s doing an awesome job. That first song, one in the middle, “Blame It On the Mustang,” and the last one, “Fighter,” are definitely my favorite three on the album. But, by the time all of us listed our favorites, we had every track on someone’s list.
This is an album country music fans are going to want in their collection. It’s the kind you play more than once a day, and you hear something different every time you play it. Great vocals, great melodies, awesome lyrics, country music that is going to fit with whatever you enjoy listening to most. Below is the press release, which of course includes the track listing and cover art for this great album from Ty Herndon.
[Press Release] Ty Herndon’s much anticipated, full-length album House On Fire is now available on iTunes and Amazon. From track to track, Herndon has made the most engaging, meaningful and fulfilling music of his career. Featuring Herndon’s powerful trademark vocals, the new album is already receiving critical accolades and being hailed as one of his best albums yet.
In a recent article, USA Today states, “His expressive vocals, the surging romance of his lyrics — all the things that put him on the map with his No. 1 debut single ‘What Mattered Most’ are evident on each of its 12 tracks.”
Rolling Stone Country claims, “Herndon aims to put forth a newfound vulnerability… It’s a new look, but one that suits him well.”
In support of the release, Herndon has also released three music videos to songs off the new album. Videos for “That Kind of Night,” “House On Fire” and “Fighter” are now available, and were directed by Trent Atkinson and edited by Jeff Matthews. Two other music videos have been shot and will be released in the coming days.
Herndon will appear on Prime Country (Ch. 54) as guest a DJ on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 11 a.m. and 11 p.m. ET as well as Sunday, Nov. 13 at 6 p.m. ET.
House On Fire is a collection of 12 new contemporary songs, which are co-produced by Herndon and Erik Halbig, with Drew Davis joining as co-producer on six of the songs.
