On Saturday night, Feb. 25, 2017, east Tennessee Dierks Bentley fans were in for a real treat, when Dierks made a Knoxville stop on his 2017 What the Hell World Tour. Country’s Chatter had a friend in that audience to take photos and tell us a little about the show. Also taking the stage in opening act positions for Dierks were Jon Pardi and Cole Swindell. As you will see from the photos included with this article, Jon and Cole also joined Dierks later in the show.
Brittany Johnson, who also took all the photos used in this post, tells us that Jon Pardi opened the show with his hits “Dirt on My Boots,” “Missing You Crazy”, and several of his other singles. Jon also sang George Strait’s “Cowboys Like Us”.Cole sang, “Middle of a Memory,” “Chillin’ It”, and every other single he has had out! Cole also sang a song called “Closer,” which is a hit from the group, The Chainsmokers. Cole and Dierks sang Cole’s new single, “Flatliner.”
As you would expect, Dierks set included “What Was I thinking,” his new single, “Black,” “Every Mile a Memory, “Different for Girls,” and he sang “Rocky top” for Tennessee fans, joined on stage by his lighting guy, who is from Knoxville. The show closed out with “Somewhere on a Beach,” where Cole, John and Butch Jones came out and joined Dierks. And, of course that is a very short list of the many songs these three did during the Saturday night show at Thompson-Bolling Arena in Knoxville.
Brittany shared with us that the Meet & Greet before the show wasn’t rushed. Dierks took a minute to talk to each of the fans attending, In addition to having a photo taken with him, he took time and signed what the fans had for him. Our thanks to Brittany for sharing her night and her photos with us here at Country’s Chatter. [Pictured above, Dierks with Brittany Johnson)
We will close this article out with a recommendation to all of you who can get to one of the remaining shows on Dierks 2017 tour to head out and see him!
