DMBFor any of our readers who believe they are one of those country music fans who remembers how great real country music was, but, at the same time, they are enjoying the sound of what is being called ‘today’s country music’ …. the Darrin Morris Band has got you covered!  Their new single, “Where Will I Be” is without a doubt the best of both worlds!

Darrin has somehow managed to take great lyrics, which tell a great story, and put it together with a melody that fits in with the music being played on every ‘Top 40’ radio station in this country. It doesn’t matter what you are using for your measuring stick —  This just flat-out good country music.

I’m not the only one who thinks this is a radio-ready, get this thing on your playlist song.  Katie Dixon, On Air Personality at KFYN 104.3 FM in Paris, Texas, had this to say about this song:  “Darrin Morris Band’s newest single ‘Where Will I Be’ is a song everyone can relate to – with his deep, soothing voice this band has a very promising future. When a listener can relate to a song it’s sure to be a hit and I think they’ve hit the nail on the head with this song.”

DMB1[Press Release] The Darrin Morris Band is pleased to announce the release of their official debut single, “Where Will I Be” to TX/Red Dirt radio. The song is available to radio programmers via download at CD Tex, CDX or by contacting Dillon Steen at Steen Promotions. Fans can purchase the single at iTunes.  “Where Will I Be” was written by Susan Giacona, Chris Ising and Marla Rubenstein.

The Darrin Morris Band includes Darrin Morris on lead vocals; Jeremy Moore on drums and backing vocals; Blake Watson on bass guitar; Michael Olson on lead guitar, and Josh Smithers on rhythm guitar. The band has gained a solid reputation as a premier live contemporary country act and they continue to build momentum, performing at clubs, casinos, fairs, and such high profile events as the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and the Longview Cattle Baron’s Ball where they opened for Mark Chesnutt on May 20th.

“Releasing this song is a big step for us!” exclaims lead singer Darrin Morris. “We are very excited about the early feedback that we’re hearing from radio and the fans, and about the possibilities that lay ahead.”

The single is the culmination of years of honing his musical craft since Morris first began singing as a teenager in the church where his father pastored. It was his love of Gospel combined with the influences of Country artists such as George Strait, Garth Brooks and Keith Whitley that helped to shape the soulful vocal style that has become his trademark.

The Darrin Morris Band began performing together in October 2012, with just a few friends getting together to play at a local restaurant near Gilmer, Texas where the group is based. They were a hit with the owners and the customers and they were asked to come back and play on a monthly basis. Before they knew it, one show led to another, and over the next four years they played across their home state of Texas, as well as Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, Missouri, Wyoming, Kansas, Nebraska and in Nashville, Tennessee.

In 2014, the group began gaining noteworthy attention when they were named “Country Band of the Year” and took “Song of the Year” awards with their original composition, “Country To The Bone” at the East Texas Music Awards. 2015 was another big year at the same awards with “Male Vocalist of the Year,” “Vocal Group of the Year” and “Song of the Year” with “Turn Back Time.” They parlayed that success into the release of their debut album, Country To The Bone, in November 2015, and returned in 2016 to sweep the East Texas Music Awards with seven more awards. In addition they garnered five noms at the 2017 Nashville Universe Awards and won “Music Video of the Year” for “Dancing In The Rain.”

Texas/Red Dirt radio promotion services for “Where Will I Be” are being handled by Dillon Steen of Steen Promotions.
