Wynonna Judd releases her first music video in 14 years, “Keeps Me Alive.” Along with her band, The Big Noise, this special project also features American guitarist Derek Trucks. The visually captivating video was shot at the historic Oaklands Mansion in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and directed by Todd Cassetty of HiFi Fusion. Over the weekend (June 3), the video premiered on AMC’s after The Son which stars Pierce Brosnan.
She first rose to fame in the 1980s performing with her mother Naomi in the iconic country music duo, The Judds. They released seven albums with Curb records and charted 26 singles, 14 of which were number one hits. In 1992, she began her solo career and released four albums with MCA. The first three of which (Wynonna, Tell Me Why, Revelations) are certified platinum. She is best known for #1 Billboard singles: “She is His Only Need,” “I Saw The Light,” “My Strongest Weakness,” and “No One Else on Earth” which were released during this time. In the 90s she also accrued 4 Grammy Nominations and won ACM Female Vocalist of the Year in 1993. In 2003, she returned to Curb records and released two more full length albums along with reuniting and touring with her mother again.
Her latest album Wynonna & The Big Noise is her first full length release since 2003, and debuted at #14 on the Top Country Albums chart, selling 3,700 copies in the US in its first week. The new single and music video “Keeps Me Alive” is a haunting ballad that features famed guitarist and Grammy Winner Derek Trucks (Derek Trucks Band, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Allman Brothers Band) nephew of Allman Brothers Butch Trucks and one of Rolling Stone Magazine’s Top 100 Guitarists of All Time.
