The initial lineup for the 7th annual Country With Heart benefit for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital has been announced. The event scheduled for one month from today on June 11th at the Nashville Nightlife Dinner Theatre will be an intimate celebrity songwriters showcase. The first round will be featuring Billy Yates (“Choices”/”I Don’t Need Your Rockin’ Chair”/”Flowers”), Becky Hobbs ( “Angels Among Us”/”I Want To Know You Before We Make Love”/”Jones on the Jukebox”) and singer/songwriter/SiriusXM radio host Dallas Wayne. There will also be a special appearance by Grammy Award winner Linda Davis. More entertainers will be announced soon.

Tickets are available online as of today at Country With Heart Tickets on www.eventbrite.com. Tickets will also be available at the door the day of the event. All proceeds from Country With Heart will go directly to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Their current campaign is “Love Music. Stop Cancer.” St. Jude is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

Country With Heart founder, singer/songwriter Bobby Marquez will host the show. The 2022 Country With Heart show will be dedicated to Petey Northup, a former St. Jude kid and a supporter of the annual benefit as well as a personal friend and top fan of Bobby Marquez.

“We lost Petey this year after battling illnesses for 30 plus years, but we did not lose his spirit. He connected with music, so we are going to make this show all about the songs that Petey loved,” states Bobby Marquez.

There will also be some impressive auction items from Crosley, Guitar Center and more, along with gifts for all who attend. Plus there will be a fun raffle including some unique St. Jude items as part of the benefit.

About Becky Hobbs:  “Country music’s best kept secret” – Ralph Novak, People Magazine Becky Hobbs started playing piano and writing songs at nine years of age in her hometown, Bartlesville, Oklahoma. At age 15, she formed the “Four Faces of Eve,” now documented as the first all-female rock band in the state of Oklahoma. After one year at the University of Tulsa, she hit the road with an all-girl band out of Tulsa, the SirPrize Package, which later became the Wax Madonna. She spent two years in Baton Rouge playing with southern rock band Swampfox, then headed to Los Angeles, where she got a record deal with MCA. She started getting her songs recorded by major artists, beginning with Helen Reddy recording “I’ll be Your Audience.” In 1979, her song “I Can’t Say Goodbye To You” (also recorded by Helen) won 1st place in the American Song Festival (Easy Listening Category). She signed with Al Gallico Music, and then Mercury Records, which sparked her move to Nashville.

Becky composed and co-wrote the 18-song musical “Nanyehi-The Story of Nancy Ward,” based on the life of her fifth-great grandmother, a Cherokee war woman, then peacemaker in the 1700’s. So far, there have been eleven productions (54 shows) in four states. She is also co-writer and co-producer of the award winning short film, “Nanyehi,” which was inducted into the Oklahoma Movie Hall of Fame in 2019 and features her song “Let There Be Peace.” Becky has performed her song “Tsa La Gi-We Are Many” at many Cherokee events and is a proud citizen of the Cherokee Nation. About Dallas Wayne:  Dallas Wayne is a singer, songwriter, radio DJ, voice-over artist, actor and music producer. He considers himself lucky to make a living doing things he loves. Some might say it has more to do with talent than luck.

He has performed throughout North America and Europe, releasing 13 albums of his own, and performing on various compilation and band recordings including the TwangBangers, Heybale! and a Grammy- nominated bluegrass album with Special Consensus.

Dallas released his latest album Coldwater, Tennessee on the BFD/Audium Nashville label in April 2022. Produced by Buddy Cannon, this album of original tunes includes several co-writes with long-time collaborator Robbie Fulks, and one written with Buddy Cannon and Whisperin’ Bill Anderson — two of Dallas’ songwriting heroes.

Dallas began performing professionally while in school before moving to Nashville, where he started songwriting and developed his vocal style singing demos for the top music publishing houses. While touring Europe in the early 90s, he signed a record deal and soon moved to Scandinavia where he was a staff songwriter for Warner/Chappell Music.

After four years living and touring in Europe, Dallas returned to the U.S. and signed with HighTone Records. He later relocated to Austin, TX, releasing albums on the Koch Nashville and Smith Entertainment labels. In 2016 and 2018 he released a popular collection of classic country songs on two albums, Songs The Jukebox Taught Me, Volume 1 and Volume 2, on Heart of Texas Records. This collection includes duets with Willie Nelson, Jeannie Seely, Darrell and Mona McCall, and Paula Nelson.

Dallas currently lives in Bristol TN/VA, the Birthplace of Country Music. On the Air Dallas can be heard on SIRIUS XM Radio: Weekdays from noon to 6 p.m. Eastern at Willie’s Roadhouse (channel 59), Tuesday through Friday in Outlaw Country (channel 60) from 10 a.m. to noon, and Sunday from 10 a.m. to noon at Willie’s Roadhouse.

He got his start in radio in 1989, drawing on his many years as a performer. Dallas solidified his radio career when he joined Outlaw Country on SIRIUS in 2005. A year later he accepted a position at KHYI 95.3 FM in Dallas where he served as Program Director and morning drive-time DJ until the end of 2007.

After the merger of SIRIUS and XM in 2008, Dallas became On-Air Personality and Associate Format Manager for the Texas-based honky-tonk channel Willie’s Place, which later became Willie’s Roadhouse.
