Country music’s rebel spirit lives on as multi-platinum artist and producer Ira Dean teams up with guitar legend Ted Nugent for a fiery new anthem, “WWCDD (What Would Charlie Daniels Do),” releasing July 6, marking the fifth anniversary of the passing of the legendary Charlie Daniels.  Written by Dean and Jeffrey Steele, the song is available HERE. Dean is signed to 8 Track Records.

“WWCDD” is more than a song—it’s a battle cry of American pride, southern grit, and musical defiance. Packed with ripping guitars, outlaw country swagger, and Dean’s signature raw vocals, the track salutes the man who helped define a genre and inspired generations of artists. Nugent’s unmistakable lead guitar riffs bring a rock edge that perfectly complements the track’s fierce energy.

“Charlie Daniels wasn’t just an artist—he was a way of life and an important part of my life,” says Ira Dean, a longtime friend of Daniels. “He stood for faith, family, freedom, and the flag. When I sat down to write this, I just kept asking myself: What would Charlie do? So, I wrote the answer.”

“Playing on this track was like riding a wild Tennessee tornado through patriotism and truth,” says Ted Nugent. “Charlie Daniels was my BloodBrother in spirit—and this song flat-out tells it like it is.”

The single arrives with a visual tribute highlighting Daniels’ legacy and the impact he left on music, America, and everyone who ever heard “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.” Proceeds from the single will benefit The Charlie Daniels Journey Home Project, supporting veterans and their transition from military to civilian life—one of Daniels’ most cherished causes.

The accompanying video was shot on Nugent’s Texas ranch and showcases the guys’ full-tilt attitudes and camaraderie.
