EPGet “All Shook Up” with AXS TV, as the network presents a month-long lineup of classic films and concerts starring beloved rock n’ roll superstar Elvis Presley in the All Hail The King block, airing every Tuesday in August at 10pE. Additionally, this special event will include an Elvis two-pack on Wednesday, August 16—the 40TH Anniversary of Presley’s tragic death—starting at 9pE.

The month kicks off with a pair of insightful documentaries, featuring an intimate look at Elvis’ return to the stage after a successful film career in the 1970 documentary ELVIS: THAT’S THE WAY IT IS on August 1, capturing the King’s Las Vegas Summer Festival, with powerhouse renditions of “Sweet Caroline,” “All Shook Up,” “Don’t Be Cruel,” and interviews with fellow icons such as Sammy Davis Jr., Cary Grant, Charo, and more. Then, on August 8, filmmakers Andrew Solt and Malcolm Leo combine archive footage with detailed re-enactments of key moments from Presley’s life and career in the unique 1981 film THIS IS ELVIS.

Stay tuned for the 2016 AXS TV original film ELVIS LIVES! on August 15, which puts an inventive spin on one of the most infamous conspiracy theories of all time and imagines an alternate reality where Elvis (Jonathan Nation) goes undercover to take down a crime syndicate and protect his family. And AXS TV pays tribute to the King on the 40TH Anniversary of his tragic death with a special block on Wednesday, August 16, featuring a behind-the-scenes exploration of Elvis’ self-titled RCA debut, and a rare glimpse at Presley’s early days and unprecedented rise to rock n’ roll royalty in the acclaimed 2002 profile series CLASSIC ALBUMS: ELVIS PRESLEY at 9pE; followed by an encore presentation of ELVIS LIVES! at 10pE.

maxresdefaultThen, on August 22, hit the road with Elvis’ entourage, as the King rocks 15 cities in 15 days in the Golden Globe-winning 2010 concert film ELVIS ON TOUR, packed with career-spanning sets and an impressive montage supervised by celebrated filmmaker Martin Scorsese, that highlights Elvis’ early days and acting career. The month comes to a close on August 29, with Elvis as a young millionaire who trades places with a ski instructor in a quest to find true love in the charming 1967 musical-comedy CLAMBAKE, featuring early appearances by Lee Majors, Teri Garr, and Corbin Bernsen.
