Tenille Arts signed with Reviver Records this past spring and immediately hit the road meeting Country radio programmers and listeners. Today, Reviver is releasing her first single, “I Hate This,” and it will hit all streaming and online retail outlets on Friday, July 27.
“I’m so happy that this is my first single to Country radio with Reviver Records,” said Tenille. “They immediately understood who I am as an artist, and I think the song ‘I Hate This’ is a great representation of that.”
“I wrote this song about a feeling that everyone has had during a breakup or a break in a relationship,” added Tenille. “The way the melody lifts in the chorus and the lyrics, it’s kind of like your emotions are all building up and then finally you just say ‘I Hate This.’”
Adam Wheeler co-wrote “I Hate This” with Tenille, and he produced the track with Matt Rovey. Between radio visits, Tenille has been writing and recording for an upcoming album. She will head to Hamilton, Ontario for the CCMA Awards in early September, where she is nominated for “Interactive Artist of the Year.”
The 23-year-old behind all of this recent attention is quietly confident country music lover raised in the small prairie town of Weyburn, Saskatchewan. She picked up the guitar and penned her first song at the age of 13 and has been performing across the US and Canada ever since. She made the move to Nashville almost three years ago, and a songwriting session brought her to the attention of award-winning producer Matt Rovey (Craig Campbell, Dean Brody), songwriter/producer Adam Wheeler and Noble Vision head Hal Oven.
Tenille’s music has tallied over five million streams. Her debut EP peaked at #1 on the iTunes Canada Country Album Chart and #37 on the iTunes U.S. Country Album Chart. Her first full-length album, Rebel Child, reached #2 on the iTunes Canada Country Album Chart and #16 on the iTunes U.S Country Album Chart.
The “Cold Feet” single so moved noted music critic Tom Roland that he penned a rare full-page feature about the recording in the Billboard Country Update. Music Row Magazine critic Robert K. Oermann called Tenille “Promising in the extreme.” Streaming giant Pandora named her one of their new artists to watch for 2017, saying, “with songwriting inspired by Don Henley and reminiscent of early Taylor Swift, and vocals the size of her native Canada, Arts’ future is bright.” Popular country website whiskeyriff.com labeled Tenille a “new country artist name you need to know immediately,” and PopCulture.com named her one of their “Country Artists to Watch in 2018.”https://www.countryschatter.com/2018/07/reviver-releases-debut-tenille-arts-single-i-hate-this/New ArtistsNew ReleasesPress Release"I Hate This",Cold Feet,Rebel child,Reviver Records,Robert K.
