Reeling in more than $520,000 for Cystic Fibrosis research and patient care, Lucas Hoge participates in his 10th year at Hook The Cure event in Puerto Vallarta Mexico.
“Not only does having a friend that has Cystic Fibrosis make this cause extremely special to me,” expressed Hoge. “But it is also truly amazing to work with a foundation where you can physically see the results of donations helping fight this horrible disease.”
The weekend-long event featured world-class fishing, challenging golf, spa treatments and unlimited gourmet food and refreshing libations at the Villa Premiere Boutique Hotel, all while helping a worthy cause. Special appearances made the weekend all the more exciting, in addition to performances by Hoge baseball royalty Matt Young, Rick Honeycutt, Orel Hershiser and Jim Lonborg showed their support for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
“Over $5.8 million net has been raised since the events inception,” says Bob Huston, Event Chairman. “Our sponsors and event participants have helped us make significant progress in adding tomorrows for people with cystic fibrosis.” Co-chairman Jeff Jennison agrees: “Our understanding of cystic fibrosis continues to evolve as scientists’ study what causes the disease and how it affects the body. These insights drive the development of new and better treatments and bring us one step closer to a cure.”
Hoge recently released an original Christmas tune, “Hey Christmas,” which follows his Top 30 Billboard Indicator hit “Power of Garth,” off his No. 1 album Dirty South. Click HERE to watch the official music video. Hoge recently performed “Power of Garth,” which pays tribute to iconic entertainer Garth Brooks, for Southwest’s “Live at 35.”
In addition to being selected for one of 12 “Live at 35” performances, Southwest Airlines announced Hoge as one of their Storyteller Brand Ambassadors. As a part of a curated group of 12 #SouthwestStorytellers Hoge promotes the brand on their social channels and documents his trips with the airline. Hoge is also one of three Bass Pro/Cabela’s Music Ambassadors, alongside Luke Bryan and Justin Moore.
