Ryman Hospitality Properties (RHP) and Blake Shelton recently celebrated the grand opening of The Doghouse at Ole Red Tishomingo with ABC’S “Good Morning America.” Shelton gave superstar buddy Luke Bryan a sneak peek of The Doghouse as well as a taste of his hometown including favorite menu items from Ole Red.

The country stars kicked off the personal tour of Shelton’s hometown with a sit-down one-on-one interview at The Doghouse where the pals asked each other a series of light-hearted questions like what songs they sing in the shower and their favorite foods.

Shelton then began the personal tour of Tishomingo with a stop at Ole Red, allowing Bryan to sample some of the restaurant’s most popular items including the delicious BBQ tacos and the over-the-top Bloody Mary. Blake then took Bryan to Junk Stars, an eclectic shop with jewelry, art, vintage items and plenty of “Team Blake” T-shirts.

Festivities continued that evening with Shelton welcoming Bryan to officially christen the new venue. Bryan delivered a 90+ minute set from his extensive catalog of hits including his current single “Knockin’ Boots” as well as fan favorites “Country Girl (Shake It For Me),” “That’s My Kind of Night,” “Strip It Down” and many more. During his performance, he noted to the packed crowd, “this is the one time it is good to be in the ‘Doghouse.'”

Big Al Mack from Oklahoma radio station 106.1 KISS FM served as Friday’s host. Prior to Shelton’s performance, Big Al invited JD Strong, Director of the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation, Richard Hatcher, President of the Oklahoma Wildlife Conservation Foundation and Jean Kates, Treasurer Oklahoma Wildlife Conservation Foundation to the stage. Shelton, an avid supporter and board member of the Oklahoma Wildlife Conservation Foundation, presented the group with a check for $144,500. Big Al also surprised Shelton with an additional $1,000 donation to the foundation. The funds were raised by tickets sales to Thursday and Friday’s performances. The donation will support conservation enhancement projects in Oklahoma, a cause important to Shelton and Bryan, both avid outdoorsman.

Following Friday’s check presentation, the grand opening celebrations continued with hometown hero Shelton taking the stage to perform some of his biggest hits including “Austin,” “Honey Bee” and “Boys Round Here.” Over the course of the rowdy and energetic 2+ hour set, Shelton was also joined on stage by Andrew Sevener, season 16 contestant from NBC’s “The Voice” and Team Blake member.

The Doghouse at Ole Red Tishomingo’s weekly programming will include “Thursday Night Jams,” “Live in Concert” on Friday nights, the “Shindig,” weekly dance party on Saturday nights, and more to be announced throughout the year. The space will also be available for private events beginning in June. For venue hours, private event information, programming and upcoming special events, visit olered.com/doghouse.
