We didn’t have much to look forward to in 2020.  With most of our concerts, fairs and festivals canceled, this was pretty much a stay home year for most of us.  We do, however have the 54th Annual CMA Awards scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 11, at 8 p.m. on ABC.

I’m excited that our local country station, WXBQ in Bristol, Va., is nominated for the CMA Award for Small Market Station.  This has been the only station I have listened to for 40 years.  This great staff, on-air personalities, and their mascot The Rabbit, have always given us the best entertainment, and the best concerts.  Wishing them a heap of good luck with this nomination.

Not too many surprises in this year’s list.  Miranda Lambert has seven nomniations, all very well deserved, Luke Combs is right behind her with six nominations, and Maren Morris has five.  Dan + Shay, Jay Joyce and Carly Pearce each have four.  Next in line are Ashley McBryde, Keith Urban and Pop artist Justin Bieber, each with three nominations.

I love that the five nominees for Entertainer of the year include two female artists this year. And, of course both of them are also nominated for Female Vocalist of the year. Here are all of the nominees
