Christian Parker has never been known to do things halfway, and nowhere is that more evident than on his debut single “Shotgun,” a high-flying, up-tempo rocker which pays homage to the power of dreams, fueled by sheer promise and potential.

Written by Riley Bria, Matt McVaney, Danny Rader and Drew Ramsey, the driving new track perfectly captures that excitement of throwing caution to the wind and chasing your dreams with a bit of reckless abandon, and is an apt theme song for Parker, who is embarking on his own dream of pursuing a career in music. The Ft. Smith, Arkansas native was accepted and was set to begin law school after graduating in 2021 with his triple major from SMU in Political Science, Economics, and Public Policy, when he realized his lifelong love of music was really his heart’s desire.

The talented singer/songwriter had been playing piano, guitar, and even the tuba since he was in grade school, and began playing in bands around the Ft. Smith area as a teen. He finally decided he wouldn’t really be happy without trying his hand at becoming a legit musician, and with his parents’ full blessing jumped in head first and full force. Parker immediately connected with the sentiment and positive energy of “Shotgun” upon first hearing it, and infused the song with plenty of inspiration and can-do gumption for all the dreamers out there yearning to give it a proper shot.

“Shotgun is a song that embodies chasing your dreams… it’s the ‘stand back here I come’ kind of classic tale of a person throwing caution to the wind and reaching for their dreams, and that’s what we’ve been doing with creating this song and my new project.  It’s a fun, uplifting track and I hope people really like it when they hear it. It’s basically the story of a guy who is stepping out and is gonna go chase his dreams — and that’s what I’m trying to do myself.”

The song, which appears on Parker’s forthcoming album Debutante, produced by Sal Oliveri, is already striking a chord with fans and premiered yesterday as a first listen on Worlds Of Country.  “Shotgun” is currently streaming everywhere today for those dreamers ready to put the pedal to the metal and needing an extra bit of hope and inspiration for their own chase.
