Ahead of the release of her self-produced project, High, arriving this Friday, April 8, Monument Records’ powerhouse vocalist Caitlyn Smith is second-most added at Country radio this week with 50 first week adds for the lead single celebrated by Billboard for its “ebullient” energy, “Downtown Baby.”

“Thank you Country radio! I can’t believe ‘Downtown Baby’ is finally hitting the airwaves,” exclaims Smith. “I am blown away by the support and am so excited to watch this song grow!”

Produced by Smith and written alongside Gordie Sampson, Thomas Tawgs Salter and Simon Wilcox, the sonically jovial song spotlights both the songwriting and vocal prowess of Smith, whom Billboard goes on to note is “one of Nashville’s most versatile creatives.”

A recent nominee for ACM New Female Artist of the Year, Smith will perform the project’s title-track, “High,” on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” tomorrow, Wednesday, April 6 at 12:35 a.m. ET / 11:35 p.m. CT. MusicRow declares that the song, which originally appeared on Miley Cyrus’ Plastic Hearts, “confirms the widely admired songwriter’s status as a first-rate record maker” while The Boot concludes that the song which was released by Smith herself in January is “as rich as it is vulnerable.”

The Minnesota-native will also perform “High” on the 2022 CMT Awards, airing live on CBS at 8 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. CT on April 11 and available to stream on-demand via Parmount+. Smith is a nominee at Monday’s Awards ceremony for the emotive music video accompanying her previous single, “I Can’t” featuring Platinum-selling band Old Dominion, in the CMT Breakthrough Video of the Year category.

The video, which premiered last April and starred both Smith and Old Dominion, portrays the desperate conditions many live music venues have faced throughout the pandemic. Using music for good, the video fostered financial aid in real time for beloved venues by encouraging viewers to support the National Independent Venue Association by donating to NIVA’s Emergency Relief Fund.

Smith is returning to such beloved venues with her 13-city headlining High & Low Tour 2022, which kicked off in her hometown of Minneapolis, Minn. last Friday, April 1 and follows several high-profile performances from the Pollstar “Hotstar” who has played stadiums with George Strait, arenas with Reba, theaters with Little Big Town and amphitheaters with Old Dominion, as well as C2C in London last month. Additional shows this week include stops at New York’s Gramercy Theatre and Brooklyn Bowl in Nashville on April 6 and April 7 respectively.
