Today, emerging Country star Kidd G shares the music video for the hit Dirt Road Remix” with BRELAND. WATCH HERE.

Still riding high on his debut album, DOWN HOME BOY, being named one of the best of 2021 by The New York Times, the Georgia native dives deep into the archives to revive and reinterpret a fan favourite.  Bad Realm Records / Atlantic Records / Warner Music Nashville PLATINUM artist BRELAND — recently nominated for three CMT Music Awards — breathes new life into the record with his smooth vocals and dynamic delivery. In today’s post-genre musical landscape, the two fresh new faces of Country music come together to create the kind of song that will find fans rooted in the genre and beyond.

“Dirt Road” first appeared on Kidd G’s 2020 debut EP, serving as his first true foray into Country music. The original song found the Georgia native seamlessly spitting bars atop an acoustic palette that evoked the feeling of driving freely down a backroad. “Dirt Road Remix” maintains the same sonic fabric, with Kidd G lamenting alongside BRELAND about a hot-and-cold relationship that he can’t get out of his mind. BRELAND vocals add a new layer to the track as he raps, before singing “they tell me that home is where the heart is, but I’ve been traveling. Country fixed my heart when it first broke / That’s why I’m thanking God for the dirt road.”

“Dirt Road Remix” is Kidd G’s second 2022 release, following January’s “Left Me” featuring YNW BSlime. The uptempo track similarly demands listeners’ full attention as a vulnerable heartbreak anthem. And Kidd G certainly has all eyes and ears on him. DOWN HOME BOY generated more than 15 million streams on Spotify alone and earned high NYT praise as “the year’s best country debut album.” The reception was so warm that a deluxe version of the album arrived in late 2021 with four new tracks.

ABOUT KIDD G  Growing up in the small Georgia town of Hamilton (population 1,130), Kidd G first found fame online through TikTok and SoundCloud, where he got his start posting songs he’d recorded with his friend Nolie Beats. In spring 2020 he caught the attention of Rebel Music, who signed him on the strength of his genre-warping talents. While early tracks like his debut single “Sorry” lean toward traditional hip-hop, he later brought an element of old-school country into his songwriting. As he continued posting his music on SoundCloud, Kidd G soon amassed a dedicated following undeniably drawn to his down-home charm and the honest detail of his lyrics.  As he continued exploring his country roots, Kidd G soon came up with “Dirt Road” —a nostalgia-soaked ballad that quickly went viral, its video surpassing 5 million YouTube views in little over a month. “I love country because it feels so natural to me, and you can really tell stories in the songs,” says Kidd G, naming Hank Williams Jr. among the artists he was raised on. Now having surpassed 1.5M monthly Spotify listeners, his tracks have seen radio play from KIXX Country Radio in Australia, and reached new peaks on highly coveted country playlists including Amazon Music’s ‘Country Heat’(peaked at No. 2), and Spotify’s ‘Hot Country’ (peaked at No. 3). Now, with his first ever headlining tour under his belt and the recent announcement of his partnership with Big Machine Label Group’s The Valory Music Co., Kidd G ends the year on an even higher note than he started it on.
