The Randy Rogers Band helped its native state of Texas celebrate in a big way this weekend, joining George Strait and Willie Nelson for two shows on Friday (4/29) and Saturday (4/30) at Austin’s brand-new Moody Center. Dubbed “Strait From Moody Center,” the two shows were part of a grand opening celebration for the new arena, which is located at the University of Texas.

Randy Rogers Band kicked off the celebration on both nights, marking a career highlight for the long-running Country group. “I’m a little bit in shock, to be honest,” Randy Rogers told the audience during his band’s set on Friday night. “What an honor to be in this new building with two giants.”

Fans in the crowd were treated to several of the Texas band’s notable hits like “In My Arms Instead” and “Kiss Me In The Dark” as Randy Rogers Band primed the stage for Nelson and Strait, the former of whom celebrated his 89th birthday on Friday (4/29) with a “Happy Birthday” serenade from assembled fans.

More new music is on the way soon from Randy Rogers Band, who released their latest single, “Picture Frames,” in October. The “timeless song of enduring love,” (Billboard) is the first single from the group’s upcoming ninth studio album, scheduled to arrive later this year.

Randy Rogers Band will continue to hit the road through the summer with shows scheduled across Texas, a stop in Nashville with Parker McCollum on May 21 and a festival appearance at the Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam in June. Check out their full list of tour dates here
