“Y’all SEE her? I – want – to – BE – her!” exclaims country newcomer Maddye Trew, beaming as she holds up a magazine featuring her hero, Loretta Lynn, on the cover. She’s celebrating the release of her new single, “Dear Loretta,” written by Josh Helms, Faren Rachels and Matt Willis and produced by Luke Buishas. The song made its debut on Radio SoBro’s NuMu Friday (an all-streaming radio platform allowing listeners to enjoy Nashville’s songwriters worldwide) just in time for Trew to take it onstage as a featured performer at the Tennessee River Jam. Trew found this song some years ago while working as an intern for a Nashville publishing company, before beginning to make her own footprints as an artist; she has held it close to her heart ever since … and was thrilled when she had the chance to record it herself.

Steve Shettler, music director at KBOE 104.9-FM finds Maddye’s mix of past and present refreshing. “Maddye Trew’s ‘Dear Loretta’ is an ode to the legendary Loretta Lynn. Sweetly sung and wonderfully written,” offers Shettler. “Maddye Trew has a bright future in country music while paying tribute to its past.”

Trew’s country charm and authenticity also caught the attention of the folks with the upcoming Tennessee River Jam held June 16-19 in Paris, Tennessee, which she refers to as “one of my two hometowns; Memphis is the other.” When asked how it feels to be invited to take the stage as an opening act for Big & Rich with a new single for the folks back home, Trew giggles, “Yeah, it can’t get much better than that.”

“Maddye’s the perfect fit for our festival,” says Travis McLeese, CEO of the Paris/Henry County Chamber of Commerce and Executive Producer of the festival. “We look for artists who bring the soundtrack of our West Tennessee region to the stage. This young lady has the ‘it factor,’ and we are just thrilled to see where her career goes from here.” She will take the stage on Saturday, June 18th from 4-5 PM CST. “Dear Loretta” follows Trew’s debut release, “Only Sometimes,” the traditional leanings of “That’s the Lonely Talkin’,” her birthday debut at the legendary Bluebird Café, an attention-getting featured performance of her cover of Patty Loveless’ “Chains” with Country Rebel (which has exceeded 163k views), and recently an opening slot for Jim Brown and hitmaker Justin Moore at the Southern Grand Slam Festival in Port Charlotte, Florida.

ABOUT MADDYE TREW  Born in Memphis, Maddye Trew has left footprints all across west Tennessee, having lived in Dyersburg, Camden, and ultimately finding her way back to Memphis from where she graduated high school. She first took to the stage – (the hearth of her grandfather’s fireplace) – performing Shania Twain covers for her family. She sang “Walkin’ After Midnight” at the historic Strand Theatre at the age of ten, took on numerous roles in a variety of high school musical productions while a student at Tipton Rosemark Academy, and eventually headed to Nashville to earn her Bachelor of Arts degree in commercial music from Belmont University. Having continued to grow as an artist and songwriter since graduation, Trew celebrated her debut single release, “Only Sometimes,” in December of 2020. She followed up with the traditional bent of “That’s the Lonely Talkin’” and has been invited to share her talents in many songwriter venues including the Listening Room, Nashville hotspot The Local, and the legendary Bluebird Café.
