Multi-platinum, global entertainer Chris Young (RCA Records Nashville) and multi-faceted entertainer Mitchell Tenpenny (Riser House/Columbia Nashville/Sony Music Nashville) have taken their “booming duet” (Tennessean) to the top of the Billboard and Country Aircheck/Mediabase country radio charts this week with their hit song, “At The End Of A Bar.” Found on Young’s Famous Friends (Deluxe Edition), “At The End Of A Bar” marks his 13th career No.1 single as an artist and his 11th No. 1 single as a songwriter and is the follow-up to his multi-platinum, multi-week No. 1, “Famous Friends” with Kane Brown. “At The End Of A Bar” is the 2nd No. 1 for Tenpenny as an artist and his 2nd No. 1 single as a songwriter.

Young, Tenpenny and Chris DeStefano wrote “At The End Of A Bar” in February 2021 during a Nashville snowstorm where most of the city was shut down. “It’s a true testament to never skip a day of work because you never know what you might write,” Young says. Produced by DeStefano and Young, he continues, “it’s also a hell of a lot of fun to sing, and Mitchell Tenpenny and I had entirely too much fun stacking vocals on this, so we had to make it a duet.”

On learning the No. 1 news, Young shared to Instagram: “Thanks to ALL OF YOU, ‘At The End Of A Bar’ is officially my 13th NUMBER 1! Pretty crazy to think that ‘Gettin’ You Home’ was my first number 1 in 2009 and I can’t believe my career has grown so much since then! Thanks for writing and singing this one with me @m10penny! (And you too @Chrisdestefano).”

“I’m just so excited to have a number one with this song. It’s a special song and a great story about how it was written. Even cooler to have it with some of my best buddies,” shares Tenpenny. “Chris has become one of my best friends, so to get to celebrate this together is special in itself. And I can’t express enough how amazing Chris DeStefano is. His talent and his energy in the room is unmatched. We’ve written some of my favorite songs together and I’m just honored to share a #1 with these incredible men.”

The chart-topping status comes following the summer release of Young’s “most personal album to date” (Forbes), Chris Young’s Famous Friends (Deluxe Edition). In addition to No. 1s “Famous Friends” with Kane Brown and “At The End of a Bar,” with Mitchell Tenpenny, the project features six new sides. New collaborations include “Music Note” with Jimmie Allen, an “excellent ode to musical heroes and chasing dreams” (Billboard) and “Everybody Needs A Song” with Old Dominion. Two new solo songs – “If I Knew What Was Good For Me” and “Like A Slow Song” — as well as acoustic versions of fan favorites “I’m Comin’ Over” and “Think of You” with Cassadee Pope round out the twenty sides on the new release, all produced or co-produced by Chris. Famous Friends (Deluxe Edition) is available now at https://CY.lnk.to/FFDLX.

Multi-platinum RCA Records Nashville global entertainer Chris Young has accumulated an impressive list of accomplishments, including membership in the iconic Grand Ole Opry, over 5 Billion on-demand streams, 13 Million singles sold, 13 career No. 1 singles, 24 R.I.A.A. Gold/Platinum/Multi-Platinum certified projects and numerous ACM, AMA, CMA and Grammy nominations, as well as wins for Performance of the Year and Collaborative Video of the Year at the CMT Music Awards. These accomplishments and more landed him in the Top 20 of Billboard’s top country artists of the decade.

“Famous Friends,” – Chris’s double-platinum-certified, multi-week chart-topping song with Kane Brown – is the title track to his “most personal album to date” (Forbes). The song earned the top spot on Billboard’s year-end Country Airplay Songs chart for 2021. In addition, the “booming duet” (Tennessean) “At The End Of A Bar” with Mitchell Tenpenny is Chris’s current No. 1 single from his 8th studio album, Famous Friends. The newly released Famous Friends (Deluxe Edition) features six new sides, including collabs with Old Dominion and Jimmie Allen, for a total of twenty tracks.

Named “one of his era’s finest traditionalists” by the Associated Press, Chris is an international ambassador for country music, performing to capacity crowds around the world. With a hit-packed set that highlights his twelve chart-toppers — including back-to-back No. 1s “Losing Sleep,” “Sober Saturday Night,” “Think Of You,” and “I’m Comin’ Over” — the Grammy and ACM nominated vocalist’s most recent headlining tour played to over 400,000 fans in 3 countries.

Since the beginning of his career, Mitchell Tenpenny has worked tirelessly to build and support his fan base with a steady stream of new music. He increased the flow of new music during the pandemic and his fans have responded by soaring his career on-demand streams to 1.3 Billion, increasing his spins at country radio, and flocking to his shows on tour.

Mitchell is a multi-faceted entertainer: singer, songwriter, producer and performer. Since the release of his debut single, “Drunk Me,” Mitchell has set new standards for breakout success in country music. The 2X Platinum-certified, No. 1 hit that has amassed nearly 580 million on-demand streams was taken from his introductory album, Telling All My Secrets, and earned him the best first week showing for any major label country debut LP at the time of its release. Since that time, the “winning” singer (the New York Times) has received nominations from the Academy of Country Music and the CMT Awards.

Mitchell’s career on-demand streams are among the best out of today’s breakout artists, with over 1.3 billion total and as many as six tracks exceeding competitive artists’ tracks thanks to his loyal fan base. At the close of 2021, Mitchell was a Top 10 artist on Spotify’s Hot Country (#7) and the #5 most-played artist on SiriusXM’s The Highway only just behind superstars like Kane Brown, Luke Combs, Thomas Rhett, and Chris Stapleton. His social following continues to grow and specifically, his TikTok following, and likes are competitive with current headlining acts.

On September 16, Mitchell will release a 20-track album This Is The Heavy. Learn more about Mitchell’s catalog of music HERE.
