Hailed as “one of the most recognizable faces in country” by Variety, MULTI-PLATINUM star Gabby Barrett returned to her roots during her last weekend of shows on Jason Aldean’s ROCK N’ ROLL COWBOY TOUR. Following a sweet visit and performance at the UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh earlier in the day, Barrett – decked out in a personalized Pittsburgh Steelers jersey – rocked the SOLD-OUT hometown crowd at The Pavilion at Star Lake in Burgettstown, PA, on Friday (8/26). Surrounded by family and friends, the Munhall, PA-native also invited her former high school teacher Casey Stapleton as a special guest and gifted him with a PLATINUM plaque for her history-making breakout debut album, GOLDMINE.
“In my community, Mr. Stapleton was one of the only people – and teacher in my high school – who encouraged me to pursue music when I needed it most,” shares Barrett. “I was balancing school while performing in malls, grocery stores, Chick-fil-A, really anywhere I could, and he continued to uplift and inspire me to keep going. I don’t know if he had any idea how much of a positive impact he has made on my life and career. So, to be able to honor him near my hometown and have him see how I have grown as an artist while I’m now living my dreams is a moment I’ll never forget.”
Crisscrossing the country this summer as a special guest of Aldean’s, Barrett recently caught up with CMT Hot 20 Countdown host Carissa Culiner backstage in Dallas, TX. Watch a clip here. Further proving herself as an in-demand touring support, she also played select shows with Brooks & Dunn in June.
An unstoppable force in the genre, Barrett remains the #1 consuming female artist on the Country Aircheck chart for multiple consecutive weeks with current single “Pick Me Up,” ranking #9 in overall consumption. Rapidly approaching PLATINUM status, the backroad ballad – penned by Barrett, Ross Copperman, and Jon Nite – is now Top 20 at Country radio while surpassing 150 MILLION global streams to date. With over 5.6 BILLION career airplay impressions and 2.3 BILLION global career streams to her credit, Barrett’s meteoric 6X PLATINUM “I Hope” – the most-streamed Country song of 2020 – has crossed 1 BILLION global streams with 7 MILLION US track equivalents
