“Brooklyn Summer is a young and super-talented, powerhouse singer-songwriter with a vibrant future in the industry. That future may be sooner than later as evident with her brand new catchy, upbeat single, ‘Blues on the Blacktop.’ We are so proud to broadcast Brooklyn’s talents worldwide right here on Radio SoBro!” – Kyle Creamer, Co-Founder, Radio SoBro

“I first saw Brooklyn Summer at a Nashville writer’s round and could not believe my ears! She has a beautiful and powerful voice with quite a range. Brooklyn was born to entertain – her stage presence and personality is off the charts! When you listen to Brooklyn, it’s easy to overlook the fact that she has just turned 13. She is a budding superstar! I am proud to be a co-writer on ‘Blues on the Blacktop’ and I am looking forward to writing more songs with her.” – Dave Lenahan, Host, The Songwriter Connection Podcast

“‘Blues on the Blacktop’ from Brooklyn Summer is a fun, upbeat song that perfectly showcases Brooklyn as an artist. She is mature way beyond her years and sure does not sound like a 13-year old! The song is terrific! – Brandon Morrell, The Backstage Pass Powered by The Sports Guys Podcast

Thirteen-year-old country powerhouse singer/songwriter Brooklyn Summer just released her rockin’ new anthem, “Blues On The Blacktop.” The kickin’ up-tempo song was co-written with Nashville tunesmiths Dave Lenahan, Scott Barrier, and Ericca Latza, and was produced by industry vet, John D. Willis, Mount Willis Productions. It is already creating a buzz among industry professionals and music fans alike since its release day premiere on Radio SoBro’s NuMu Friday. “Blues On The Blacktop” is now available on all digital and streaming platforms. Listen HERE.

“Blues on the Blacktop” is an old-fashioned feel-good, hand clappin,’ toe’ tappin’ country sing- along song reminiscent of the popular 90s sound. It’s about getting in the car, hitting the blacktop and leaving behind a relationship gone wrong, and not looking back.

“…Run like a wild desert mustang
Roll like a runaway freight train
Ride like an outlaw renegade
Drop the top down on the ragtop
Drive with my back to the sunset
Fly through the night till I forget
Try to push the needle to the red
Outrun my blues on the blacktop

Left him in the smoke of my rubber burning
Gotta keep these four chrome wheels turning
Don’t wanna shed a tear cause he don’t deserve it
Something ‘bout highway that heals the hurtin’

Tore off the rearview there’s nothing left to see
Full tank gas and freedom in front of me…”

Co-writer, Scott Barrier adds, “Brooklyn Summer is one of the best up-and-coming young talents in Nashville! She has elements of Gretchen Wilson and other powerhouse singers, and she brings exciting energy to the stage. She is a joy to work with and I see great things for Brooklyn in the future. If you don’t get a chance to catch her now while she’s playing around Nashville, you might miss the brightest rising star I’ve seen in a generation.”

“As a songwriter, I am so proud to see Brooklyn take on ‘Blues on the Blacktop’ and make it her own! She is such a talented young lady with a passion for both songwriting and artistry, as well as the smarts to navigate this industry. That is a breath of fresh air to see at such a young age! She absolutely blew me away the first time I heard her sing. What a powerhouse! The sky is the limit for her, and I’m rooting for her the entire way up,” notes Ericca Latza, co-writer.

Summer is a superstar in the making. The California native who was born in Morgan Hill (Silicon Valley) and moved to L.A. in third grade, proves that dynamite comes in small packages and people are taking notice. Although she may be tiny in stature, she is quickly becoming known for her BIG voice. The young country-rocker notes artists from Gretchen Wilson, Miranda Lambert, and Pistol Annies, to Christina Aguilera and Adele as her biggest musical influences and she takes a little something that she has learned along the way from each of them adding to it her own distinctive style to create something unforgettable. Summer has already graced the stages of some of Music City’s hottest rooftops and venues since her recent move from Los Angeles including Alley Taps, Fairlane Hotel, Kid Rock’s Honky Tonk & Rock ‘n’ Roll Steakhouse, The SScott Barner tage on Broadway, The Ainsworth Nashville, the world-famous Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge, Up! Rooftop Lounge, and Virgin Hotel Nashville. She was recently invited to play the iconic Bluebird Cafe where she will make her debut on July 11th singing her new single as a guest of co-writers Dave Lenahan and Scott Barrier. Summer has also been busy writing and recording with Nashville’s finest hit songwriters and producers and is already working on new music.

It is evident that Summer is not afraid of hard work. She has been performing since the tender age of 5 and is mature way beyond her years. Not only is she a singer/songwriter, but an actress, voice-over artist, and a model. She has already appeared in numerous films and is recognized by both the Los Angeles and Nashville communities for her talent – volunteering her voice singing for hospice and performing at local county fairs and festivals. She was named Grand Champion winner of both the California State Talent Competition and the Greater Bay Area Talent Competitions.

Summer resides in Music City where she is home-schooled and working diligently on her music career every day spending time co-writing, taking vocal and guitar lessons, practicing daily, and performing all over the southeast and California. Despite her busy schedule, Summer is still a typical teenager, enjoying the same things as her peers. When she is not on stage, she enjoys drawing, graphic design, dancing, horseback riding, playing Roblox, and loves animals.

When asked what is next for Summer, she notes “I would love to be signed by a record label who understands me and shares my vision and my passion.” Music is everything to me! It is universal and so powerful. I want to use my talents and music to give back to my community and to help others,” and that is exactly what she will do, making a difference, one song at a time.
