The song shines a light on themes of PTSD, suicide prevention, self-efficacy, community, and the respect-worthy aspiration to remain faithful to oneself. Listen to “Knots” HERE.

The impact of ‘Knots’ is multifaceted as it coincides with National PTSD Month. Ewing shares, “It’s about the singer and the subject. It’s not just about PTSD, it’s about the gravel in all of our shoes. It’s about women and children, people we know and see everyday—generosity, courage, dedication, and commitment to the most loving path.”

“Knots” illuminates the chance meeting of two kindred spirits who see themselves, and their own journeys through adversity, in the powerful metaphor of tangled knots in fishing line. Positivity, dedication, and a reverence for life resonate hope and poetically beckon compassion, acceptance, awareness and support.

My prayer is that we’ll look closely, not look away, judge less harshly or not at all, endeavor to understand, be present, and remember to hold ourselves gently as well.”

Revered as one of the most talented singer songwriters of his generation, magic happens when Skip Ewing records his own music and connects with a live audience. Ewing’s songs have been recorded by Willie Nelson, Keb Mo, George Strait, Zac Brown Band, Keith Urban, and many more, with No. 1 hits that include Kenny Chesney’s “You Had Me from Hello” and Collin Raye’s “Love, Me.” Skip’s forthcoming album follows his 2020 full length project, Wyoming, which garnered critical acclaim. American Songwriter applauded the album as “a mystical masterpiece of an album.” Ewing currently lives in Wyoming, but travels to Nashville to record. “When I write, sing, and play, I draw from whatever artistic well I have with the intention of reaching the hearts of other humans on the planet. I want to make music that is lasting and meaningful and be able to do that until I can’t do it anymore.” With additional releases slated for the remainder of the year, Ewing is set for a momentous 2023 as he gears up to release his next project.
