Quartz Hill Records’ country trio Runaway June released their latest EP SMOKE, WINE & WHISKEY today across all digital streaming platforms. Leading with the boot-stomping, fire-worthy single “Make Me Wanna Smoke,” which debuted on The Bobby Bones show, the percussive and rhythmic track – written by Jason Sellers, Ella Langley and Bobby Hamrick – keeps Runaway June’s three-part harmonies front and center as band members Jennifer Wayne, Natalie Stovall and Stevie Woodward can’t help but feel a pull toward someone they know they’re better off leaving behind. The second track, “Fine Wine,” penned by the trio with Paul Sikes, is a playful groove about getting over someone by indulging in a bottle of wine. Rounding out the Mickey Jack Cones-produced compilation is “Miss Me” – a taunting anthem written by Jessica Mitchell, Blake Bollinger and Ben Stennis. Featuring a sultry, addictive melody and blazing vocals, “Miss Me” offers a warning to any man considering going astray.

“‘Smoke, Wine & Whiskey’ is all about leaning into vices to get over heartbreak,” shares the trio of the project. “But we are not taking ourselves too seriously with these songs. Even though they are all about heartbreak, they all have their own kind of power and playfulness. Whether it’s with a glass of wine or telling ourselves ‘he’s gonna miss me,’ heartbreak doesn’t have to be all about the tears.”

Dubbed by Billboard as the “next hot trend in country music” and praised by People as “a band that’s well on its way to Country music superstardom,” each member of Runaway June possesses the kind of powerhouse talent and radiant charisma that fully commands the spotlight. But when the three musicians sing together, their crystalline harmonies create an impact well beyond the sum of its parts and instantly stir up a whole world of feeling: sweet relief from heartache, escape from the everyday chaos, an unabashed freedom to shake off your inhibitions. With Runaway June’s career triumphs including earning nominations from the Academy of Country Music Awards and the CMT Music Awards, bringing their electrifying live set to spots on tour with Country icons like Carrie Underwood and Luke Bryan, and scoring a major radio hit with their GOLD-certified breakthrough single “Buy My Own Drinks,” the Nashville-based trio are now set to deliver a new chapter and their effervescent sound shines like never before.

ABOUT RUNAWAY JUNE:  Formed in 2015, Runaway June is an all-female band made up of three powerhouse musicians with no limit to their talent and effortless charisma. With their past triumphs including the GOLD-certified radio hit “Buy My Own Drinks,” the trio has earned ACM and CMT nominations, plus supported Country icons like Carrie Underwood with their electrifying live set – all while drawing major critical acclaim for releases like their 2019 full-length debut BLUE ROSES. Consisting of founding member Jennifer Wayne and fellow vocalists/multi-instrumentalists Natalie Stovall and Stevie Woodward, Runaway June delivers a timeless yet undeniably fresh sound reflecting their eclectic sensibilities and wide-ranging backgrounds. Wayne is a California native who started out on a path as a tennis pro before forming her first band, then began writing for artists like Eric Paslay soon after her post-college move to Nashville; Stovall took up classical violin at age four in Central Tennessee, launched her music career by playing fiddle in the Opryland Kids Club, attended Berklee College of Music, and eventually linked up with Wayne while on tour with her former band; and Woodward got her start playing solo gigs all over South Carolina at 14, studied songwriting and music business at Middle Tennessee State University, and later embarked on a solo career as a singer/songwriter. Runaway June recently brought their harmony-fueled and high-energy brand of Country to the bold and unbridled 2022 single “BROKEN HEARTS (DO BROKEN THINGS)” and  their current single, burn-it-down country rocker with blowtorch vocals and attitude to match, “Make Me Wanna Smoke.”
