Country phenomenon Megan Moroney premieres her brand-new song “No Caller ID” — the very first glimpse at the hugely anticipated next chapter for the Sony Music Nashville/Columbia Records star. Kicking off what’s sure to be an unstoppable year, the post-breakup ballad is Moroney’s first new music since her massively acclaimed debut album LUCKY. Go here to listen to “No Caller ID” now.

Written by Moroney, Jessi Alexander, Connie Harrington, and Jessie Jo Dillon, “No Caller ID” further reveals the Georgia-bred artist’s gift for capturing the most nuanced emotions with both intimacy and impact — a talent that recently landed LUCKY on best-of-the-year lists from major outlets like The New York Times and Rolling Stone. To that end, “No Caller ID” tells the all-too-relatable tale of receiving a late-night phone call from an ex you’re trying your best to forget. After shedding light on everything she’s been through (“I’m two months deep in therapy/Been finally getting sleep/My friends quit checking up on me/’Cause I’m back on my feet”), Moroney builds to a gut-punching chorus delivered with aching intensity (“Here you come again and there you go/No coincidence, you always know/When I’m moving on, you move back in/With a half-ass ‘Sorry, how you been?’”). Although she channels everything from longing to frustration to the pain of self-betrayal (“Don’t you get tired of hurting me?/I’m tired of hurting me”), Moroney achieves a quiet sense of triumph in the song’s final moments, briefly turning “No Caller ID” into an anthem of self-protection.

Produced by Moroney’s frequent collaborator Kristian Bush (a multi-award-winning artist/songwriter/ producer), “No Caller ID” sets her storytelling to an understated yet powerful sound graced with lush mandolin, delicate but hard-hitting live drums, and endlessly spellbinding layers of electric, acoustic, and steel guitar. While much of the song centers on a stunningly tender vocal performance from Moroney, “No Caller ID” reaches a glorious and soaring peak at the bridge thanks in part to some exhilarating guitar work from Benji Shanks and Justin Schipper.

“I played this song on THE LUCKY TOUR last fall, and I could tell my fans wanted me to release it,” shares Moroney. “It feels like this song has helped my fans as much as it has helped me. By the end, there is a lot of strength and growth that I’m proud of. I am really excited for this one!”

“No Caller ID” arrives just weeks after Moroney took the stage for CBS’s New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash. Broadcasting from The Stage on Broadway, the “emo cowgirl” tore through a crowd-thrilling rendition of her RIAA 2X PLATINUM hit single “Tennessee Orange.” As she played a custom Gibson guitar bedazzled with over 3,000 rhinestones, the awestruck audience sang along to every word of Moroney’s No. 1 Country radio smash. Check out the performance here, and go here to read an exclusive PopCulture.com interview in which Moroney reflects on 2023 and all its incredible highlights.

Cementing her status as a veritable hitmaker, Moroney currently has two songs in the Top 30 on Country radio: “I’m Not Pretty” (the magnetic opening track to LUCKY) and “Can’t Break Up Now” (her recent collaboration with Old Dominion). Hailed by Billboard as a “cheeky, defiant clapback,” “I’m Not Pretty” first hit the Country radio airwaves back in August, the same week she premiered its wildly clever video (co-directed by Moroney herself) — check it out here.

Moroney’s ever-growing legion of fans may recognize “No Caller ID” from her sold-out THE LUCKY TOUR — a national headline run with stops at major cities and iconic venues coast-to-coast. This spring and summer, Moroney will take the stage at stadiums across the country as support for Kenny Chesney’s SUN DOWN 2024 TOUR. ABOUT MEGAN MORONEY:
One of Country’s biggest breakout stars in recent years, Megan Moroney first burst onto the scene with her RIAA 2X PLATINUM hit single “Tennessee Orange” — an immediate smash showcasing her true-to-life storytelling, unforgettable vocals, and strong-minded yet fiercely sensitive point of view. Along with notching her first No. 1 at Country radio and landing on coveted lists like the Los Angeles Times’ “100 best songs of 2023,” “Tennessee Orange” soon found the Sony Music Nashville/Columbia Records artist winning Breakthrough Female Video of the Year at the CMT Music Awards and making her debut appearances on major TV shows like TODAY, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Good Morning America, and New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash. A Georgia native who got her start singing covers with her dad and brother — and later began penning her own songs while studying accounting at the University of Georgia — Moroney made her massively acclaimed full-length debut with 2023’s LUCKY: a powerhouse body of work that turned up on best-of-the-year lists from leading outlets like The New York Times, Rolling Stone, Billboard, and the Associated Press (who hailed her as a “Gen Z songwriter with Taylor Swift-level acuity”). Produced by Kristian Bush and built on a timeless collision of Country, Folk, and Southern Rock, LUCKY also revealed the lived-in intimacy and electrifying impact of her songwriting on tracks like “I’m Not Pretty” (her current single, praised by Billboard as a “cheeky, defiant clapback”). As she continued her meteoric rise, the Nashville-based musician earned nominations by CMA, ACM, and Billboard Music Awards, in addition to appearing at The GRAMMY Museum in Los Angeles as part of its illustrious SPOTLIGHT series in the midst of her sold-out THE LUCKY TOUR — a fall 2023 run that brought her magnetic live show to iconic venues across the U.S. Recently featured on Forbes’ 30 Under 30, MusicRow’s Next Big Thing Class of 2024, and Country Radio Seminar’s New Faces of Country Music, she kicked off 2024 with her stunning new song “No Caller ID.” With more new music on the way — and over 768 MILLION total global streams to date — Moroney will join Kenny Chesney on his SUN DOWN 2024 TOUR and perform at Stagecoach Festival in April.
