Nashville, Tenn. – Breakout Country duo Walker County are kicking off 2024 with the release of their brand new single “Double-Wide World” today, January 12. From start to finish, the gritty, small-town inspired tune proves that sometimes a little drama does in fact make life more fun. With a refreshing candor in their lyricism, Ivy and Sophie are poised for a momentous 2024 as they gear up to independently release some of their most vulnerable and authentic music to date. “This song is inspired by some fun stories of small town living. Whether you’ve lived in a double-wide, trailer park, small town, or not, the rumor mill of a small tight knit community is nothing short of interesting! We had so much fun writing this one and sharing our funny side with y’all,” Walker County shared.

Co-written by Walker County along with Paul Sikes, the bold new song is filled with witty tales of double-wide life. From the humorous tales of a neighbor’s antics to the latest town gossip, the storytelling shines on this up-beat track. However, beneath the tongue-in-cheek lyrics, the song celebrates the people who create life’s most memorable moments and appreciates them exactly as they are.

While the release of “Double-Wide World” marks the sister duo’s first independent release, the foundation of their music still rings true. Sophie’s hard-driving rhythms on the drumkit and Ivy’s strutting, soulful vocals both continue to effortlessly create a unique blend of country music that was inspired by the sounds of middle America they grew up on. The CMT Listen Up and Next Women of Country artists are practiced road warriors, opening for the likes of Willie Nelson, Dwight Yoakam, Martina McBride, Old Dominion and more.

Walker County earned millions of streams with fan-favorite tracks such as “Bits & Pieces” and “Drag It Out” as well as over 1.6 million likes from their TikTok videos. In 2023, the Indiana natives released their No Smoke and Mirrors EP which was praised by Billboard for its “ultra-country enunciations within well-crafted, two-part harmonies.” From heartbreaks to true loves and county fairs to The Kelly Clarkson Show, the women of Walker County have embraced a double-wide life and grown into the future superstars they’ve always been destined to be.
