Just off his breakout #1 debut, RECORDS Nashville hitmaker George Birge returns with the modern-Country power anthem “Cowboy Songs,” hot on the trail of a romantic outlaw.

Out today (2/23) and co-written by Birge, the heart-pounding anthem tells a passionate tale of smoky nights and neon lights, with a guy searching for a Country girl who’s stolen his heart.

Swept up by desire and chasing a memory, the track is a stormy Country-rocker with dark, rumbling distortion, windblown steel and Birge’s electrifying vocal edge. “Cowboy Songs” is set to impact Country radio on March 11, marking the second single of his red-hot-and-rising career.

“Growing up playing dive bars in Texas, I always wanted to capture that image in a song,” explains Birge. “The moment we started writing ‘Cowboy Songs,’ I was instantly transported back to a hot, smoky, throwback dance hall night in the Austin, Texas that I grew up in. I couldn’t love it more.”

Set to push Birge into wide-open territory, “Cowboy Songs” follows his debut single and out-of-the gate #1, “Mind On You,” which has catapulted the Texas native into next-big-thing status. The addictive track topped Country radio charts as 2024 began, while also cracking the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 on its way to wide-reaching appeal.

“Mind On You” propelled Birge to his late-night TV debut on January 29 – appearing on NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to perform the seductive standout – and there are more big moments to come.

Tapped for prestigious New Faces of Country Music lineup for CRS 2024 next week (3/1), Birge will join Dillon Carmichael, Corey Kent, Megan Moroney and Conner Smith at an annual industry showcase which highlights up-and-coming stars chosen by Country-radio tastemakers themselves. The coveted honor has previously predicted now-superstars such as Jelly Roll, Luke Combs, Sam Hunt, Luke Bryan, and many more.

Meanwhile, Birge will also continue building his fanbase on the road. The newly minted chart-topper is currently supporting Parker McCollum’s BURN IT DOWN TOUR 2024, with select shows all across the U.S. ending June 1 in Jacksonville, Florida. He’ll then join Luke Bryan for the just-announced MIND OF A COUNTRY BOY TOUR starting August 8, with more nationwide dates scheduled through the end of summer. See here for full list of tour stops.
