We know that many of you have been affected by Hurricane Helene, and you are all seeking help with supplies, housing, and money needed to rebuild. You are all in our prayers.
Here in Erwin, the county seat of Unicoi County, we have seen so many wonderful people coming together to help with this devastation. We are sure other affected areas are seeing that same kind of response.
Some of our readers have asked how they can help the people in Erwin/Unicoi County with monetary donations. We have a link for that. This link can be verified by calling the Unicoi County Mayor, at 423-743-9391. There is a local church handling this fund for our entire county. If you could share this link, that would be wonderful.
Please visit: www.churchatevergreen.com/relief When you visit that page, you will see a place for dollar amount, under that is a very small pull-down menu – the choices there are ‘Disaster Relief’ and ‘General’. Of course they will want to pick Disaster Relief.
We have so many churches, businesses, civic organizations and residents helping with food, clothing, bottled water, and household items. These items are being collected and distributed at various locations throughout the entire northeast Tennessee area. – However, Evergreen FWB Church is the only one in the county accepting monetary donations. The funds they collect will stay in the county.
Thank you to everyone who requested the link. If you can help in any way at all, you know the smallest donation will help do the biggest things. Most importantly, please keep everyone in these devastated areas in your prayers. This storm has destroyed so much in so many states.
