Several days ago, we received a message in our Country’s Chatter Facebook Messenger.  The message was from the management team of a new country artist, 16-year-0ld Damon Spigle.  The Eastern Kentucky native is having a great start to his country music career.  Both as a vocalist and a brilliant songwriter.

The title of the song is perfects, “Every Heart Has A Story”.  I didn’t have to listen more than once to know I liked the song.  But I did listen more than once.  More than twice. More times than I can count.  And I am still listening.

I knew nothing about Damon when I received the message.  But I have learned a lot over the past few days.  One thing I did, and I hope you will do as well, is visit his social media links.  All of them.  Start with his website. From there use the roadmap I used – Hit Spotify next. The five songs you will hear there are “Every Heart Has a Story”, “Take Me Out of My Hometowns”, “Why”, “Hey Girl” and “Never Go Back Again”. If you can get past the first one without wanting to keep repeating it, most down the list.  Pay close attention and listen to the stories. When the lyrics tell this good of a story, it is definitely this good of a song.

Every song Damon does tell a story.  “Why” has a nice tempo.  Perfect for a dance. And even though you might want to sing along, this one is more of a ‘listening’ one. Talking about everything we’ve all been through while we were young and falling in love. It brings back feelings.  Memories.  Favorites.  Listen – and remember how many times we asked ourselves ‘Why”.

“Hey Girl” is another one that will make you and your partner want to get up and dance.  Slow tempo, great lyrics.  A good story from start to finish.  “Hey girl, how you been? Saw you there walkin’ in. There’s no way that you’re all alone. Dark hair, brown eyes, blue jeans, pretty smile.  I think that you got me sold. There’s nowhere else that I’d ever want to be, and I know that I barely even know your name….” I’ll stop right there; you listen to it and find out where it goes.

Damon obviously has a little history in this business.  We believe he also has a bright future.  Keep in mind that he is young.  While that is the best time to start, we immediately noticed his brilliant future as a songwriter.  His vocals are good, but remember, he is 16.  I have a strong feeling we are going to watch these vocals grow as he does.  You cannot help but love his music.
