Rising actor and musician Jet Jurgensmeyer releases his enthralling new single “Midwest Sunset.” The track is available across all streaming platforms and can be listened to here.

“Midwest Sunset” compares a fiery love to the vibrant colors of a sunset, with the girl’s beauty shining like the setting sun. The song paints a picture of the couple watching the sunset’s fading light from the tailgate of a truck, as it reflects the burning passion of their connection, a love that feels as timeless and vast as the sky itself. Jurgensmeyer co-wrote the song with singer/songwriter Ericca Latza, and the track was produced by himself alongside John Willis.

“I’d been sitting on the idea for ‘Midwest Sunset’ for a while,” Jurgensmeyer explains. “One day, Ericca and I were writing over FaceTime, and I shared the concept with her. She was immediately open to it and we began writing. However, it wasn’t until about two weeks later that we were finally able to finish the song in person. I was a bit nervous that the momentum might fade with the time gap, but in the end, it turned out exactly how I imagined—and maybe even better.”

The release of “Midwest Sunset” follows Jurgensmeyer’s previous single release “Found You,” a heartfelt exploration of intimate connection, inspired by the desire to capture the essence of a conversation between lovers. The song emerged from a few lines and a melody that Jurgensmeyer had been nurturing in his notes, reflecting the feelings of completeness that come from being with someone special. Collaborating with Caroline Woodfill and Aron Rosing, the trio crafted a piece that resonates with anyone who has experienced deep affection. Recorded at Mount Willis, the production by Jet Jurgensmeyer and John Willis adds a polished yet warm touch, allowing the simplicity and depth of the song to shine. Jet’s pride in the final result is evident, as he invites listeners to glimpse a relatable moment in the tapestry of love and connection.
