COUNTRY SUPERSTAR EARNS TOP HONORS WITH SIX NOMINATIONS
AT “THE 59TH ANNUAL CMA AWARDS”

Last night in New York, Sony Music Nashville/Columbia Records singer/songwriter Megan Moroney made history at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs), where her PLATINUM-certified No. 1 smash “Am I Okay?” won the moon person for the first-ever Best Country category. With awards season nearly in full swing, the Country superstar also just earned top honors with SIX nominations for “The 59th Annual CMA Awards,” where she’s now in the running for SINGLE OF THE YEAR for “Am I Okay?,” SONG OF THE YEAR for “Am I Okay?,”  ALBUM OF THE YEAR for Am I Okay?FEMALE VOCALIST OF THE YEARMUSICAL EVENT OF THE YEAR for her collaboration with Kenny Chesney “You Had To Be There,” and MUSIC VIDEO OF THE YEAR for “Am I Okay?.”

For her debut appearance at the VMAs, Moroney took to the Extended Play Stage and commanded the crowd with a knockout performance of her hit single “6 Months Later” — a bright and breezy post-breakup bop now ruling Country radio, after marking her biggest chart debut to date on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100Watch her performance during the VMAs inaugural CBS broadcast here. Serving up one of the buzzy performances of the night, the Georgia-bred hitmaker won raves from Rolling StoneForbesPitchforkDaily Mail, and more. Always a standout on the red carpet, Moroney also made a major splash in a Sau Lee two-piece number accompanied by Christian Louboutin heels, turning up on Best Dressed lists from the likes of Harper’s BAZAARGLAMOURCosmopolitanBillboardCountry Living Magazine, and more.

An increasingly towering force in Country music, Moroney triumphed as one of six artists nominated in the all-new Best Country category. The VMA win is the latest in a series of coveted accolades for “Am I Okay?,” the Billboard Hot 100-charting title track from her wildly acclaimed sophomore album (a 2024 LP that emerged as the year’s third-biggest debut from a female Country artist).

With nominations from many of the music world’s top award bodies now under her belt, Moroney is currently reigning as the CMA Awards’ NEW ARTIST OF THE YEAR thanks to her win at last year’s ceremony. Broadcasting live on ABC, “The 59th Annual CMA Awards” will take place on Wednesday, November 19, at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.

As she nears the end of another action-packed summer, Moroney joined songwriting legend Diane Warren onstage at Nashville’s Anzie Blue last Tuesday (9/2) for the launch of FEMco’s all-new interview-based series. Featured in PEOPLE’s “Star Tracks,” “Nashville Welcomes Diane Warren: In Conversation with Megan Moroney” found the two powerhouse songwriters speaking candidly about their respective journeys through the music industry. As part of the conversation, Moroney opened up about the process behind the breakout rise of her now 4X PLATINUM smash “Tennessee Orange.”

Now at work on the hugely anticipated follow-up to Am I Okay?, Moroney is still soaring on the massive success of “6 Months Later,” one of this summer’s hottest songs. Along with impacting Country radio (where she’s also holding strong on the Top 30 with “You Had To Be There” feat. Kenny Chesney), the self-assured and irresistibly catchy track shot to the Top 10 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs and vaulted to No. 1 on the Spotify All-Genre Top Song Debut chart in its first three days, notching her highest chart position ever across streaming platforms. Co-directed by Moroney and her frequent collaborator CeCe Dawson, the Rom-Com inspired video for “6 Months Later” was released on VEVO Footnotes last week – check it out here.

Featured on the cover of POLLSTAR in June, Moroney continues to thrill audiences across the country on her history-making AM I OKAY? TOUR. With dates scheduled through her three-night stand at the Texas Trust CU Theatre in Dallas (October 10, 11, and 12), the 50-date headline run will soon find the elite headliner taking the stage at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado (September 30) before moving on to a two-night stand at legendary The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles (October 2 and 3). Following highly successful runs like THE LUCKY 2.0 TOUR (a 2024 trek that sold out in just five minutes), the GEORGIA GIRL TOUR (a nearly sold-out 15-date tour of the UK and Europe), and her stadium-sized shows on Kenny Chesney’s SUN GOES DOWN 2024 TOUR, the AM I OKAY? TOUR also included two-night stands at iconic venues like New York City’s Radio City Music Hall, Nashville’s The Pinnacle, Las Vegas’ The Theater at Virgin Hotels, Savannah’s Enmarket Arena, and more. In addition, her July 26 stop at Wyoming’s Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo shattered the record for number of tickets sold for a female artist, with over 20,400 fans in attendanceGo here for a full list of Moroney’s upcoming tour dates.
