Red Street Records’ artist Walker Montgomery’s latest single, “With No Distractions,” (STREAM) sounds like it belongs right on that old jukebox he longs to drop some quarters into back in 1992, when life was much, much simpler, and he could avoid the painful reminders of losing the one he loves.
The nostalgia-filled country tune harkens back to the golden days of life when we weren’t bombarded 24/7 with news cycles, social media, and constant time commitments, when you could start your car with an actual key, avoid a call by merely taking a receiver off the hook, and enjoy a cold longneck and drown your sorrows to the sound of some soulful, lonesome steel guitar. It’s a sentiment we can all relate to, and Montgomery’s measured, straight-to-the-heart delivery is perfect for the stone-cold country song that fans of 90’s country are sure to love and stream on repeat.
