Donna Ann Cover Rea ‘Country’ went to see Jesus on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at Johnson City Medical Center. Donna was a very faithful member of Ninth Street Baptist Church in Erwin. She loved her church friends and is affectionately known as the Jesus Lady, as she has given hundreds of little Jesus figures to friends and strangers in many towns and states as she travelled. Donna was the faithful best friend to her husband and children, Larry, Stephanie and Stephen. The ‘Country’ name was given to her many years ago by country music performers, fans and media who knew her from her work on countryschatter.com, a website dedicated to her lifelong passion of country music. She also spent many years as a Journalist for the Erwin Record.

Donna is preceded in death by her parents, Barbara Jeanne “Bobbie Kaye” Wandres and Charles Cover, Sr.; an infant son, Larry Rea, Jr.; as well as her brothers: Charles Cover, Jr. and Richard Cover; and half-brother, Kenny Cover. Those left behind to cherish her memory include her husband, Larry B. Rea; daughter, Stephanie Rea; son Stephen Rea; grandchildren: Gavin Gorman and Zoe Rea; sister, Denise Donelson; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to offer special thanks to their church family at Ninth Street Baptist Church for all of their love and support; and to the Doctors, Nurses and staff of Johnson City Medical Center and Sycamore Shoals Hospital for the wonderful care they provided Donna.

A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will be held from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Saturday, October 24, 2026, in the chapel at Valley Funeral Home. A memorial service to honor her life will begin at 4:00 pm. With Pastor Peter Layton officiating. Donna will be inurned at Evergreen Cemetery at a later date.
