We’ve been really fortunate around here.  HERE being northeast Tennessee.  The Tri-Cities area to be exact.  We’ve had Nashville recording artist Brittany Bexton on our local stages a number of times.  Back in 2013 we first saw her perform at the Damascas Brewery in Damascus, Va. [Article here] Damascus is known as the Friendliest Town on the [Appalachian] Trail. The town is a known ‘stop-over’ for people hiking the famous trail.  Since her 2013 appearance in Damascus, we’ve seen Brittany twice at what we call not only the friendliest, but the BEST pizzeria anywhere.

With two EP’s under her belt, and her single, “Free Fall” finding radio air time around the country, this singer/songwriter is currently working on a new project.  The single is called “Believe Again”, and the album she is working on, while not really what could be called worship music, or even contemporary Christian music, it is definitely inspirational.

“There is something magical about music. Magical in the way it touches our emotions, sets a scene, and says more than words alone could ever say. Magical in the way it stirs up emotion, and in the way it calms and soothes the soul. I’ve always felt like music was made, not just for enjoyment, but to make the world a better place, to make a difference, and to touch people who are hurting. It is healing. It can make you laugh, and sing and dance, or cry, and heal a broken heart. I love this about music; it’s ability to change the world, or make a difference in one person’s world. It’s why I do what I do. This is also why I’m so excited about my new recording project,” Brittany says on her Believe Again Campaign page.  (If you would like to help with this new project, just click here to find out how you can help.

With a touch of soul, a bit of blues, a a n ice mix of old and newer countryn and a lot of Brittany – her music is uniquely her own.  Her performances are entertaining and memorable, Whether she works with a full band or one guitarist (last night she was accompanied by Adam Kramer on guitar), she lights the stage and entertains the crowd with music that everyone in the audience will enjoy.  In addition to her original songs and songs she’s recorded, Brittany gave us a little Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash, The band Perry, and Even Elvis during her two hour performance.

DSCN3006Brittany has played at some of the country’s larger fairs and festivals, and has opened for artists like Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.  She performs during CMA Week in Nashville, with her Daring Divas Showcase.  This year, in addition to Brittany, that showcase featured Alayna Carroll, Megan Golden, and Dani-elle Kleha.  Actor/Comedian/Singer Kenny Garner served as emcee for the event.  And, all proceeds from the show went to raising awareness for domestic abuse and PTSD.

best-pizza-header2017Last night was Brittany’s second appearance at Jiggy Rays Downtown Pizzeria (610 E.Elk Ave., Elizabethton, Tenn.)  The folks at Jiggy Rays make their dough from scratch. And, they do that every day.  Their website tell us they “then combine quality ingredients and our slow rise process to bring you the best pizza crust this side of the moon. Our pizzas are topped with a perfect blend of Mozzarella, provolone and Parmesan, then sprinkled with a touch of oregano. Choose one of our Itappalachian original specialties or you can build your own.”

Their pizza is awesome, you can find out about that by visiting the website. If you live anywhere in the area, you probably already know.  It is award-winning pizza, served by a well-trained, professional, friendly group of people who seem to go out of their way to help their customers have a good time.  Fun place, great music, awesome food – you can’t ask for much more than that.

If you missed last night’s show … live in Northeast Tennessee, or can plan to be here on October 14, Brittany will be back on stage at Jiggy Rays for another great show.

DSCN3108In addition to Brittany’s website, visit her Facebook page, and remember to “Like” it while you are there.  She has a lot of other social media links listed on her website, so check those out when you have a chance.  And, you can follow her on Twitter @BrittanyBexton.    If you aren’t already following Country’s Chatter on Twitter, we’d love to have you.  You will find us @countryschatter.
