BCBucky Covington made a memorable appearance yesterday, on his way to shows in Ohio and West Virginia, after getting an invite to a very special fan’s birthday party. Young Austin Weaver is a huge fan of Bucky Covington and though he struggles with Cerebral Palsy, has found inspiration to walk through Covington’s 2008 Top 10 hit, “I’ll Walk.”

Before Austin’s 8th birthday, his mother Christina reached out to Rick Modesitt (a longtime promoter and staple in the country industry) of RMA Presents to see if a visit might be possible while Bucky was in town to perform at the Belpre, Ohio Homecoming. Upon hearing Austin’s story, Covington was eager to join the family in the celebration and brought his band along to put on a private show at the birthday party.

Bucky 72015Rick Modesitt works regularly with Bucky, as he has since 2007, and boasts about the visit on the RMA Presents Facebook page stating “Bucky is a great man and when invited, he jumped at the chance to go visit Austin and his family. One of the many reasons RMA loves Bucky and his band. Simply put, they are great people. Bucky is not only a great singer and entertainer… he has a huge heart. Thank You Bucky and Happy Birthday Austin!”

Bucky recently released his first independent project in the form of a 6 song EP titled Happy Man which produced 2 singles charting on Music Row charts. Covington co-produced the project alongside his longtime producer, Grammy nominated Dale Oliver. The North Carolina native will be inducted into the North Carolina Hall of Fame this October.
