Sea Gayle’s CJ Solar (c.) with Nashville Today host Devon O’Day (l.) and Nashville Today producer Lexi Carter
Hit singer/songwriter CJ Solar, visited WSM-AM’s “Nashville Today” yesterday to spin cuts from his Get Away With It EP including his first Top 15 single “Airplane.” He also played a couple of songs he’s written, including Morgan Wallen’s Top 10 “Up Down” featuring Florida Georgia Line.
The two Louisiana natives chatted about food in their home state, and touring the country in a (sometimes) air-conditioned van.
Rolling Stone Country named CJ one of their “New Artists You Need To Know” and listed “Airplane” as one of their Top 10 singles. Get Away With It follows Solar’s critically-acclaimed Hard One To Turn Down EP, which The Shotgun Seat called “the perfect pairing of country storytelling and rocking thythms, married by his dynamic vocals” and named him in their “17 to Watch in 17.” Critics at The Daily Country wrote, “Solar injects a hefty (and welcome) dose of Southern rock into his country, which melds perfectly with his gravelly vocals.”
