Patrick 1Singer/songwriter Patrick Droney made his debut less than one month ago with reflective track “Stand and Deliver” introducing the world to a soulful new voice in Music City’s creative community. In its first week of release “Stand and Deliver” logged over 100,000 streams pushing it into the Top 10 on Spotify’s Viral 50 in the US.

Following that success, the independent Kobalt/AWAL artist has released his self-titled EP available across all digital platforms today. Along with the EP Droney is sharing a special live video of “Brooklyn one of the tracks featured on the debut collection of songs.

“The last six or seven years have been filled with so much love, loss and everything in between. I pulled from every thread and every inch of those experiences for this EP,” shares Droney. “My intention was to make the music feel timeless and connect to the listener on an emotional level, hoping in return they will feel that intention and connect their stories to mine.”

Droney first picked up a guitar around age six and at age 13 was awarded the “New Generation Award” by the Robert Johnson Blues Foundation. The honor helped put him on the map in the guitar world and on stages with musical heroes like B.B. King, James Brown and Elvis Costello. In 2010 Droney moved to New York to study at NYU’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music. During those years he established himself as a formidable songwriter playing clubs all over the city. It was there he was discovered by legendary publisher Lance Freed, who signed him and encouraged a move to Los Angeles. In 2016, again with Freed’s encouragement, Droney relocated to Nashville where he was welcomed by some of Music City’s most talented songwriters.

“Being surrounded by such masters of the craft has elevated both my ability to tell my story and my reverence for the process,” Droney reflects. “I want to leave a fingerprint behind of my time here and be a small part of the rich legacy of songwriters, singers and musicians who have traded in emotional currency for the greater good of our fellow man.”

Produced by Droney and Ian Fitchuk,* the five-song compilation serves as a powerful introduction to the wise-beyond-his-years, pop-soul artist. Droney also co-wrote all the songs featured on the EP.
