DSCN5682Weather is so unpredictable.  On Friday night, Oct. 5, Bristol, Tenn., had a beautiful 78 degree evening.  On Friday night, Oct. 12, Bristol had William Michael Morgan on stage, with temperatures somewhere around 50 degrees.  That chill in the air didn’t cool off the spirits of the fans, who showed up for this outdoor event.  And, it didn’t slow down William Michael either.

There would be two artists taking the stage that night.  It was The Pinnacle’s Fall Concert.  An event free to the public.  The area set for the concert had many food and beverage vendors available.  It was a large field that housed the stage, with plenty of room for the fans and their chairs.  William Michael Morgan just one of the artists providing the entertainment for the event. We will be tellig you about Chase Bryant’s performance a little later.

William Michael Morgan had an enthusiastic crowd, and a show full of songs country music fans love. He gave everyone a fun-filled night they will long remember.  All of his fans were anxious to hear his hits like “I Met A Girl”, “Vinyl” and “Missing” during his live show. They got an special treat when he sang his new single, “Tonight Girl”, which was just released the day of that show.

DSCN5720It became obvious the audience was full of long-time William  Michael fans, when they not only sang along with the songs they heard on the radio, but knew every word to the songs from his album, “Vinyl,” as well.  “People Like Me,” “Beer Drinker,” “Cheap Cologne” and “Somethin’ to Drink About”, were real fan favorites.

Anyone who listens to William Michael Morgan’s music knows he never strays far from his country roots.  He included several covers Friday night, including “Check Yes or No”, and even an acoustic rendition of George Strait’s “The Chair”.  He brought the house down with “Long Haired Country Boy”, and pretty much showed all of us that there isn’t anything he can’t do.

As if the show wasn’t enough, this young man did what isn’t done much anymore.  He did the customary meet and greet for a few folks before the show, but then … he also announced from stage near the end of his performance, that he would be available at the merch table, to meet anyone who wanted to come over and say hello.  In fact, I think what he said was something about ‘getting to shake your hand’.  He did more than shake their hand, however.  He signed autographs, posed for pictures and talked to each fan as much as they wanted to talk.  He had a long line of fans, and made sure he took care of all of them.

We often see fan-interaction with our older, veteran artists.  Not so much with the newer artists. William Michael Morgan is setting the right example for all artists.  The fans are important. We know he had other things to do that night. He had a 4-1/2 hour drive back to Nashville, which would have put him home somewhere around 4 a.m.  AND, he had to make  a 6 a.m. flight out of Nashville International Airport. Yet, he was still willing to spend time with fans who love what he does, and support him.

DSCN5621Much thanks to The Pinnacle, Steve Johnson, WXBQ Radio, on-air personality, Marcus Brooks, and the WXBQ Rabbit for not only being part of this great event, but for making it all possible.  The Pinnacle is one of the premiere shopping areas in Northeast Tennessee.  Complete with theaters, an in-door trampoline park, more restaurants than you can count, and great stores for shopping. The Pinnacle is also a great place for long walks and just hanging out for the day.  This concert was what all country music fans are hoping will be the second Fall concert – with many more to come.

For more information on William Michael Morgan, and to keep up with his show schedule, visit his website and Facebook.  He has a lot of other social media links listed on his website page, too, so be sure to have a look at those.  And, you can follow him on Twitter  @wmmorgan

We’ll close this out with a few more pictures of the show on Friday night.  Will include a few of those great band members for you, too. Such a talented, fun-to-watch group of musicians. DSCN5736DSCN5692 DSCN5697DSCN5625 DSCN5716DSCN5703 DSCN5705 DSCN5706 DSCN5710  DSCN5714 DSCN5715DSCN5727 DSCN5733DSCN5737
